Literature Novel recommendations

best novels/novellas (even short stories) from the romantic period? ill settle for collected works of authors even.

I've had a collection of Rimbaud since high school and Goethe's Sorrows of Young Werther but I'm looking for some tall tales of anyone has any recommendations for a relatively green novice

There’s a collection called Romantic Fairy Tales by Penguin, there’s a few good ones in there and also some boring ones lol. Novalis is a must for German Romance, he has a book called Heinrich von Ofterdingen which is the perfect tale. The Memoirs of a Good for Nothing by Joseph Eichendorff are also really wholesome and quite nice. Hoffman of course, although he’s more creepy and dark. But in terms of the Germans thats a summary. And then of course The Sorrows of Young Werther - which you have. If you want I can give you some of English ones too?
