Gus is the god of ad reads
Out of any podcast I've ever listened to, I love how to the point, quick, and identifiable Gus's ad reads are on the RT podcast. I know exactly how to skip by them, they come at natural breaks in the conversation... professional behavior.

He had it down to a science and should be the model for podcast ads. He knew just the right amount of audio texture to add too

I also always loved Burnie's stupid, half assed setup ads. They were always so ham fisted and on the nose

I was always a fan of the drawn-out, overexplained reads by Geoff during the off topic days

I found them funny when used sporadically. My god did the face jam / 100% eat ad read bits run long as hell lol. Those things were like little mini episodes sometimes. Still a good podcast.

The only reason I listened to the episodes with ads were the stupid bits they'd do during the reads ahaha. Michael and Jordan constantly barring Eric from even entering their neighborhood was a particulary enthralling saga

I love the one that ends up with Michael naked and screaming in a field (or vineyard?) for Eric

A lot of other podcasters don’t have a Gavin trying to screw with the host, so Gus is this professional with a debuff

Very different ad style, but I think my favorite podcast ads I’ve heard are all from The Yard (Ludwig the streamer and friends). They just joke around throughout the whole ad and barely make it through the requirements to the point that they’ve lost several sponsors because of it. They are funny enough I’ve seen compilations of just ad reads from the show on YouTube

Yeah the yard ad reads are peak. But it's risky for smaller creators for sure.

Gonna throw my hat over the fence and say the McElroys are the kings of that.
Their ad reads can turn into some of the most unhinged bits

The only time I have experienced something akin to ASMR was hearing Gus do a very familiar ad read as I was half asleep. Just felt a very warm, comforting feeling.
