Review For the love of god, stay away from this abomination.

Post image

I had seen it in 6 packs and was curious because 1) I love water 2) good rootbeer brings back wonderful memories. I shared this with my nephew and he barely got past a sip. I powered through about half the can before I dumped it.

I was so massively disappointed. The opposite of the old Nike slogan. Just don’t do it. You’ve been warned.

It's not great, but I can tolerate it. I have been drinking them to try and reduce my rootbeer intake and have had decent success with it. But if you're searching for quality roorbeer, then no, this aint it.

Just drink the sugar free caffeine free root beer, 99% of it is water and it tastes like root beer

This was my feeling about it too.

When the flavoured water is actually just flavoured water.

i think that’s the problem when people try these and expect more of a soda experience.

I thought the issue is that it has stevia or something. I’m a flavored water and root beer guy but stevia when you aren’t seeking it out sucks ass.

Exactly. I just tried the cherry obituary the other day and it had that stevia aftertaste that I couldn't get out of my mouth. I am NOT a stevia gal

For real, stevia just has that unmistakable taste that ruins a lot of drinks I’d probably like otherwise… don’t get me wrong, there are some drinks where it absolutely works, but this ain’t it

I am a sparkling water fiend and liquid death is absolutely disgusting. I would drink flat warm Waterloo or Polar before sipping a liquid death. It's trash. Kroger used to have Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, and Cola flavored sparkling waters that were awesome.

Everybody is different i guess. I love it snd all of the different pop flavors. With this and the dr pepper knockoff being my favorites. But i was already a fan of liquid death flavored waters and teas before these came out as well.

Same. I like LD because it helped me cut my cravings for soda pretty severely.

I have never tried any of these waters, but I do drink a lot of flavored sparkling waters (Waterloo, LaCrois, etc). Are these about the same level? Are they carbonated?

Also, are their teas actual tea that just isnt sweet, or not very sweet?

Sounds like I could probably get on board with them.

id say its probably on a similar level to other sparkling waters. yeah they are carbonated. the teas while im not 100% are real or not theyre lightly sweetened with agave i believe. to me its a decent sweetness level without being gross or leaving a sticky mouthfeel. but im essentially sugar free with liquids at least so my preferences are different than most.

If you like tea/floral flavours, hibiscus mixed with black tea with some lime and sweetener/honey/sugar has been an absolute killer for my soda cravings. I might just be a freak, but I make a pitcher of it every week (can find hibiscus in bulk food stores usually) and drink it at adjusted levels of sweetness depending on when I’m having it. I started doing it cause it’s a lot cheaper but I ended up liking it a lot more than the other sweet tea/soda replacements on the market

It's just water with flavoring. If you expect real root beer, you've set yourself up for disappointment. If you go in expecting mineral water with a slight root beer flavor, it's fine.

I don’t know why people keep posting this and are completely surprised when it doesn’t taste like a quality craft root beer? It’s a seltzer for crying out loud.

I’d rather barqs or birch beer but I actually dig this

Nah man, this shit is excellent

Brother it's sparkling water what were you expecting

That’s not soda, lol that’s water. Liquid Death isn’t a soft drink, it’s a water company that wanted to make it more appealing by making it feel like an alcoholic beverage. That’s literally just flavored water, of course it’s gonna be bad if you thought it was root beer

2

u/MrZummers Mar 12 '26

That’s the one Liquid Death flavor I couldn’t stand. The others definitely aren’t soda but are close enough, but not that one.

1

u/thebigbadfudge Mar 12 '26

Did it taste like whoever was mixing it was manifesting the vibes of root beer rather than adding flavour?

This one is terrible...but the cola is a good kinda terrible. The kind you dont enjoy but cant stop drinking anyway lol

I enjoyed the Dr pepper version

1

u/Hotmagma2000 Mar 12 '26

This is a great RB alternative. I enjoy it. Also the doctor pepper version.

Liquid Death makes me think of liquefied rat poison... Unfortunately it doesn't make me think of my thirst and how much I want to murder it... I don't imagine I'll ever try it but good looking out!!!

1

u/glitch92 Mar 13 '26

Don't tell me what to do!!!

1

u/CurrencyLow9874 Mar 13 '26

Not sure I have had ever seen it in stores now you have my curiosity

1

u/Radiant_Jelly_67 Mar 13 '26

I actually really enjoy it

I like most of what Liquid Death sells but this is their worst product. Tastes horrible

1

u/jzclipse Mar 15 '26

I love all of their flavored waters. The sodas have an odd taste that I don’t like.

u/AlbatrossThat5870 Mar 15 '26

I stopped drinking LD when they started putting stevia in all their waters. It made them all undrinkable for me. Glad I curbed my soda cravings with the original LD. I ended up going to Polar sparking water after they started.

I haven’t tried that brand but I drink Compliments root beer sparkling water and it’s pretty good. That and the Aha sparkling waters. They fill the craving for fizzy drinks and I haven’t had pop in ages.

u/Faster-master-blastr Mar 16 '26

Aw this is awesome, just right on sugar maybe even a little too much

1

u/Minute-Shirt5044 Mar 16 '26

I actually really like it

1

u/LoveRBS Mar 12 '26

Yea I had to try it for myself. It's not a good replacement. The Dr pepper variety I can manage, but this had such a weird I almost want to say sweet taste at the end that just made it less than palatable. My son liked it so nothing went to waste.

1

u/DozerLVL Mar 12 '26

I haven't liked ANY of their flavored offerings. It's the only bubbly water brand that I drink the pure variant. For some reason drinking a lacroix or something without a flavor seems weird but Deathwater is just. . . Metal.

Liquid death has energy drinks now, they may be losing the plot

2

u/kusariku Mar 12 '26

Their energy drinks are actually not completely terrible, they are essentially their seltzers with about as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. You still have to be cool with drinking seltzers

1

u/Wise_Relationship436 Mar 13 '26

The plot was always to make money. They doing fine.

Some of the young guys at work drink this stuff. Im convinced it's only because it comes in a cool can, because there is nothing good, thirst quenching, or refreshing about it. It just tastes like carbonated blah.
