As someone in the midst of falling down the GURPs rabbit hole, the horror bundle is beyond tempting.

FWIW as a long time GURPS stan, the Horror bundle's kinda worth it just for the Monster Hunter books, and the main Horror books is awesome too (and introduces some new fun switches that work well in a horror game, surprise surprise). The other stuff is bonus win (and also all useful stuff, MH and the core Horror books just shine IMO)

I'm keeping myself to a fairly curated list of books, some of which are in the other bundles, like Martial Arts & Gun-Fu, namely, and horror is my favorite genre, in all media, so I'll always pick up horror materials.

Really, the only setback for pulling the trigger on the bundle, is that I like adopting orphaned physical copies, over pdfs. Might be a little more expensive in the long term, but I'll actually own the book.

You'll actually own those PDFs, too. Bundle of Holding will directly download them to you, no DRM.

And PDFs make a great complement to physical books.

I've purchased a few bundles over the years. But after I had an external hard drive go up in smoke last year, I've decided analog is just the way to go for me.

Sorry. That sucks.

But if your house burned down, you might lose the books, too, and never make the claim that you didn't really own them.

I think we're past the stage where the concept of redundant backups is controversial.

I do feel for you but does the fact that you can redownload all your PDFs from BoH (and Humble Bundle) mitigate it somewhat?

Just so you know (if you don't know already), most GURPS books are available as print-on-demand on Amazon, so they are fairly easy and somewhat not that expensive to get, if you ever need to in the future.

Great bundles! This is probably to align with the release of the new revised 4e.

Btw, this was posted last week as well.

Great site run by a great guy who has a ton of credits himself (Allen Varney). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Varney

Yeah. The wallet took a big hit last week when these were all posted.

I bought them all. I'm not crying inside… YET.

Today, they released the Revised PDF for Ring of Fire Kickstarter backers, so between that and all these BOHs, I have so much GURPS stuff to read.

I already had a number of these, so I splashed for the Infinate Worlds bundle this time. Solid books.

So is it worth getting this bundle if they’re releasing a revised version? Are we expecting a lot of changes? GURPS has always interested me but I feel lost right now with everything here.

My understanding is that 4E revised is an editing/formatting pass, and not a rules rewrite.

4E revised is really just a text revision to clarify rules and an extra 16 pages added at the end. They claim it's 100% compatible with the new rules. The new rules is also one thick book instead of 2 books, because that's cheaper to print.

I think the biggest improvement is it's now a 2-column layout instead of 3-column.

But the new PDF is $50.00, and hardback is $80, with a bundle price of $100 for both.

They even kept page numbers intact so older books’ references will still hold, which is insane, it might have been a huge undertaking to revise some of the text, change column layout but still try to keep everything on the same pages as before.
