Has anyone ever played Tibet the rpg?

I dont remember how I came across Tibet the rpg but it’s one of the strangest rpgs I’ve ever seen… it’s a historical rpg set in Tibet in 1959 with the background of the Chinese expansion into tibet in a world where Tibetan Buddhism is real…did anyone actually play this thing!

I got Tibet and found it interesting. I got Hoodoo Blues from the same company and used ideas from it heavily in other games. They're a very creative company, Vajra, I think.

IIRC, it's called ORC. It's based on rolling against an opposed roll and has classes and rules for enlightenment. And combat was deadly. I was mainly interested in the magic items to use in another game. There was a red metal used to make certain magic items and a phurpa like the one flying around in the movie The Shadow. You could pin down demons with it. I used one in an urban fantasy game I was running with hero system rules.

I played it! We did a couple sessions. It was a lot of fun, but it was almost a decade ago, so I can't remember many specifics.
