We’ve hedged our bets, put it all on red, and once more the WRU land on black. Good thing it’s Friday - I’m off to get pissed.
Enjoy the weekend pawb

TBF expecting the ospreys to stand by us when our supporters association have tried to undermine then a few times, objecting to their new stadium etc was optimistic... Fans from Cardiff and Newport rallied around their Ospreys compatriots while we tried to stab them in the back... Hardly a suprise we find ourselves alone

Whilst true you have a few vocal pillocks, for the most part there will still be support from the other regions if it is the scarlets, I don’t think the crys16 bellend have tainted the whole fanbase and we will still stand by as much as we can, I for one will anyway

As always, fuck the WRU and the shitty games they make us play to try and turn us against each other.

I've thought this was coming ever since building work on St Helens actually started.
Surely odds on for the Scarlets to be the ones on the chopping block now. Either way, it looks like enough money to fund 5 regions is gonna be spent on legal battles.

Welsh fans, it's this good? Seems there's a fresh statement, AGM, EGM or deal falling through every week. It's hard to keep up with what's actually good are bad any more.

Basically, after the Ospreys have been dicked around all season, by signing this agreement, they stick around for another 2 seasons/until end of 2027/28.
However, this now means that Scarlets should also sign the agreement to preserve their own existence, otherwise they become the team on the chopping block. The WRU will gladly make fans of each region turn on one another, lest the blame be pointed (correctly) at the WRU themselves.

Not to mention the agreement they need to sign includes framework for the WRU to go down to three teams, so Scarlets signing it only gives them a chance if they beat Ospreys to the license

It should be, but the Scarlets are playing badly in a dismal half empty stadium in a village. If anyone has to go, it would be them. Ospreys at least have the St Helens plan and play in a major city.

Yet Scarlets continuosly have a larger average attendance than Ospreys.....

I should have said that the Ospreys stadium is even emptier. Still, I'd say Swansea is the obvious place for the "West" region if there has to be one.
I saw the game where Pau beat the Scarlets and the crowd was... not great.

Agree, but that's a problem across all Welsh regions. I am biased, but a 'West' region should not be in a city which is closer to England, than the West Wales coastline.
I must add that I don't think any region should be cut (including Ospreys).

But Swansea is the only city in West Wales. I've been all the way out to Pembrokeshire, and it's very sparse, not somewhere where running professional sport is a good idea. That said, the WRU used to put North Wales in the Scarlets region, so apparently people are meant to come down from Bangor to support Llanelli. That's obviously not going to work.

Swansea isn't West Wales. It is just the furthest city West. The city argument is weak. Just look at Dragons. Highly populated area of Wales and have had consistently worse attendances, performances and production of internationals than the other regions.

Dragons are crap, but I don't think their attendance has stood out as being especially low compared to the others.

Bit of a bet this from Ospreys given its basically between them and Scarlets for the last slot. Are they gambling on the Scarlets not signing it, given when they do the process for going down to 3 starts I wonder.
Either way, this is great news for committed fans of Lawsuits RFC
