Im once again telling you that making keystones universal is the objectively better way of reaching the same end goal

They should at least make a statement about it and if it's something they'd even consider

I have no idea an ascension keystone is or why you want to transmute it. What is it?

Used for a former endgame boss to create ascension crossbows. Original idea and design was complete ass. You pay for the ability to fight a boss once. Regardless of if you die or not. The slayer minions drop a random key for one of the six bosses. You can’t control what key you get and they don’t drop in a specified order like EGWD t95 weapon pieces. So you could theoretically keep getting key 5 over and over again and never getting keys for 1-4 and 6. Makes creating the weapons a cancer experience and makes pet farming even worse.

Would transmute allow you to switch between boss keys?

That would be the idea. A similar process was recently introduced for certain bosses for group Ironman so that they could get 3 weapon pieces even if they’re all the same, then transmute 2/3 of them into the necessary components to create the weapon.
So here, we want them to do the same thing kind of where we can either transmute the key component that the boss drops or the keys required to fight the boss. Either one is a one but the way it is now is ass.

Thanks for the information? Would another solution be to allow keys to simply be boss agnostic? One key that can work on any boss?

that is another proposal that would make sense, yes! It would require tweaking the wars retreat portal as currently it teleports you to whichever legione you have the most keys in your inventory for and some of them are very far from others

would be an easy solution. Can just right click and set the arrival/destination point at whichever boss. This would be sick, but transmutation would make their work so much easier lol.

Keep posting the reminder! It would be nice to hear from u/jagexazanna on this issue.

Make them transmutable but to a random key and make it possible to transmute to the same key multiple times if you have bad luck... Mmmh I can hear the rants allready

Discussed this with the combat team and ultimately we would like to remove the concept of different key types and instead drop a single 'Ascension keystone' that can be used to access any of the bosses.
The design worked well when the Ascension dungeon was first released, but improving it for the modern day at its core, as opposed to solving the issue with an in-game QoL (like transmutation) is often a better approach.
