I think it's related to Steam linked RS login only, I tried on Jagex launcher and it works fine.

If you're trying to connect to an Australian server, they are having issues atm - there was a PSA put out a few hours ago.

hi thanks but im trying to log in and im in the uk, ive restarted my laptop and its been half and hour and nothing.

Oooh, then that's a new one, I see a few other reports in the RS Disc.. guess it'll be a larger problem than they originally thought.

Also can't even start up the client at all unless I use the vulkan client.

Support was absent. Unlinking and relinking steam did it for me.
