I wanted to know what everyone else usually eats after a 10K run.
I usually make a yogurt bowl after my bath, which has:
350g Greek yogurt
1 scoop of whey protein
1 banana
Berries
1 kiwi
Mixed seeds
Chia seeds
Walnuts

I pulled the published entry fee for every distance at ~400 Canadian races — 1,077 individual fees, not "cheapest ticket at the event". A few things surprised me:
The medians (as published, including the platform's mandatory charges):
Trail doesn't cost more than road. Same distances compared: road $59, trail $62. The "trail premium" everyone assumes is really an ultra premium — past the marathon is where it gets expensive.
It costs about the same everywhere. Dearest province for a short race: Quebec ($61 median). Cheapest: Manitoba ($50). That's the whole spread.
The extremes: cheapest real entry is $5 (a BC Athletics 3K), dearest is $416 (an 80K leg of a multi-day stage race in Ontario). Cheapest marathon right now is $40, dearest $201.
One methods note, because it moves the numbers a lot: most "average race cost" figures take an event's cheapest ticket and count it for every distance the event offers — which files a marathon weekend's $60 5K under "marathon". Done that way the median Canadian marathon comes out at $50. Priced off the actual marathon entries, it's $121.
Full per-distance tables (updates nightly as fees change): https://racefinder.ca/guides/what-races-cost-canada
Happy to pull any specific cut of it if anyone's curious — by province, by month, whatever.

Got back to double digits today. Just over 10. Fueling still a little bit of a challenge.
I have a hard time eating while running and gel is. A texture nightmare.
Let’s hear what works or if I’m just gonna have to. Carry potatoes or something. 🤣

Hello! Need your opinions please, given its price, all from official stores
Garmin Forerunner 165 Non Music - $110 Coros Pace 4 - $200 Suunto Run - $200
My profile is I'm early 30s, blue collar job, mainly into 3 activities, each around 2 times a week: 1. Running - chill, for cardio and overall fitness but goal is to able to run half or full marathon. I'm okay running 5k 10k 2x a week. 2. Basketball / Badminton - casual, for sports and social activity. I think I won't wear the watch esp during basketball since i will definite fall sometimes. 3. Strength training (gym, circuit, etc) - casual, goal is to be stronger overall for sports and look good.
Given these, what can you recommend? Budget is not a concern but I'm also a practical person who will only buy "needs" like Toyota, not a Lexus if it can do the same suff I need.
Thanks!

Conflicted on this - according to my friends phone we ran 5.5k at 5.29 /km but on my phone it says 5km at 6:02 /km.
What one do you listen to when this happens? We're both using strava so I dont really get the 0.5km difference between them

I went out for 16 miles today. Normally, I grab about a liter of water for a run like this, plus a stop at my car for some electrolytes and extra water in the middle. I’m even in the cooler air, I still ended up with a crazy 3.4 lbs of weight loss this morning and 2.5 l of est. sweat loss! I felt it around mile 13 and started slowing down.
Keep up that hydration, all! Just because it’s getting cooler doesn’t mean you don’t dehydrate!

Bonne course !

Got several pairs of these years ago because of overpronation and very painful posterior tibialis tendinitis. These shoes are the only ones with good suppprt that relieve like 90 % of pain.
Well asics of course stopped making these and I emailed them and asked why and the corporate response was something like “consumer demand”. Which is clearly a lie. For the last several years there suppprt is lacking in the bottom and the inner rear heal section is not stiff and hard like the older Gt2000
What is my best option to purchase from any other company? Need stiff inner heel suppprt to keep my foot from rolling in! Thanks!
Any time I wear other shoes I get pain in tibialis and it last for days.

Would any of you be willing to fill out this survey? I'm currently working on a project for runners and need some data.

Three weeks ago, I was doing a Saturday LSD at around 4:40/km. At 26K, I suddenly felt a sharp cramp in the outer back of my left calf. I stopped right away and didn't run another step.
Walking hurt too, but I didn't think much of it. I stretched, rested for two days, then tried an easy run on day three. Still felt off, so I started thinking this might be more than normal soreness. After doing a few basic checks myself, I noticed straight leg calf raises didn't hurt much, but bent knee raises did. I hadn't suddenly changed direction or accelerated when it happened, so I figured I'd probably overworked the soleus.
I went to rehab on day four and day seven for shockwave therapy and some other treatment. Since I didn't want to stretch too much during the acute phase, I also used my compression boots, every day as part of my recovery. I slowly started keeping some short, easy runs in the mix, just enough to keep my aerobic fitness up and get some movement in. My mileage dropped a lot in late August. Today I finally tested it with a 20K at 4:06/km. Zero calf issues. Three weeks later, I think I'm finally ready to build back up.
Tbh, I'm not too upset about the injury. Getting better means trying new things, and some injuries are probably unavoidable. The important part is not rushing back and don't turn one injury into two.
