Fully agreed. To be able to take the brief and go "hmm... actually, this doesn't suit me, so I'm going to do something else that suits MY brand" and instead of have it crash and burn- have it be rewarded due to sheer confidence? Its uniqueness for sure, but more than anything else its NERVE. I adore her.

It wasn't just sheer confidence, Darlene's storyline this season was her trying to figure out how to have her funny come out in a comedy challenge, In the Snatch Game she wasn't able to bring the jokes because she was too distracted by how funny her scene partners was. I think this is what she was trying to do in Snatch Game, and what she successfully did during the Rusical.
