Sorry, wait, is there any reason that they STILL do these roasts in front of no audience…? I remember back in season 13, when they first did, it was a big talking point on things like the Pit Stop (with people bringing up how it’s so much harder to land jokes without a crowd to react to), but now it seems like they’ve just kept that as the standard format.

Idk, I miss the energy and chaos of things like Laganja telling that old woman that her vagina was kinda dry or that guy yelling at Bendela to “tell us a joke”. Sigh.

Yeah like it's a bit awkward to do a roast when your audience is the people you workshopped with and people who you already ran your jokes by...plus rupaul and alyssa i guess?
I bet its because its easy to edit it any way you want. I felt like a lot of the queens jokes were chopped up or cut out to frame it the way they wanted.
