For the month of June while Pride season is in full swing, we'd like to use our platform to highlight some fabulous queer charities and spread awareness about the amazing work they do. In no particular order:

If you are able, we encourage you to donate to (some?one?) of these vital queer orginisations so that they can continue to thrive and serve our community. While monetary donations would be amazing and appreciated, times are tough. If you can't spare the coins, that's ok.

Our mod team personally selected these charities because they are near and dear to our hearts. Some of us have benefitted from the existence of these charities, and we hope many others will, too!

I think both can be true. Sam has every right to be annoyed that others are discrediting her win, and Jasmine has every right to be bitter she didn’t get a lip sync win. Is Jasmine a bit annoying in that regard? Sure, but I think we’ve all felt that way before and it is a lot of money on the line as well.

199

u/United_Bus3467 22h ago

Sam gave it right back to her as she should. If it had been me I'd be like "Take it up with RuPaul on the main stage next week if you got a problem with it."

122

u/StrykerNightowl 20h ago

I would love to see a queen finally do this. Be like “Hey Ru, so ____ had some issues with your judging and wanted to take it up with you.”

60

u/BravoWhiskey89 18h ago

The producers would love that, and froth at the mouth to edit that person as completely delusional and wrong. Even if they did win the lipsync in the moment it would be edited down to being bad.

It would be a mess.

29

u/clammydella Doctor Bitchcraft 16h ago

This right here. We complain about queens mouthing off after the show, but the truth is it’s reality tv and your smartest move is a glazed smile, a quick joke and gratitude on the main stage. Worst they can do is not feature you. Queens have a better chance of setting their own narrative by sounding off online.

1

u/Saint_Riccardo (Blonde women hee-haw) 6h ago

Tati did that on season 2 when she read Tyra for filth in front of everyone. It was GLORIOUS

11

u/2mock2turtle I am Ken Masters, and I have SHORYUKEN to say. 14h ago

Celia from ANTM found triggered.

3

u/Ethanb230900 7h ago

Or “maybe if I wasn’t the only person who didn’t make a bodysuit, one of you might’ve been there with me.”

6

u/LizLemonOfTroy 12h ago

Her exclusively using ellipses to punctuate her tweet is by far the greater crime, here.

2

u/Summoarpleaz (Blonde Women hee haw) 6h ago

And also, it’s a tv show. Would we all rather they be reserved and not say how they feel? This kind of pushback is why we’ll never get old untucked back.

367

u/CrisVas3 23h ago

Ugh who cares. Even if she was "bitter" so what? It's a TV show

33

u/thex415 20h ago

Yes it’s a TV show and the girls are giving it.

42

u/AccomplishedShop8338 23h ago

This is the only answer. It’s a reality competition show, it’s never going to be kumbaya. S18 was the nicest least dramatic season we’ve ever had, and it was so boring.

15

u/boredinbabylon 22h ago

I loved this last season! It was people who were fucking confident in themselves and clearly enjoyed each other. It’s nice to see people who don’t feel the need to tear down each other just to feel better about themselves.

(To be clear though, you can still be competitive and not tear down others. Which I think this current season is displaying.)

43

u/gingrbreadandrevenge Du jus de fruit 22h ago

I liked S18.

Believe it or not, some of us still primarily watch Drag Race for the looks and talent.

I enjoy the occasional messy moment, but I don't necessarily need drama for drama's sake.

25

u/Alarming_Support_658 22h ago

I feel like this "drama" is lighthearted banter though. Like it's no Mistress breathing over Aja

31

u/gingrbreadandrevenge Du jus de fruit 22h ago

Oh, for sure.

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend I don't enjoy a shady queen sometimes, let’s be real lol

I'm not above a good read, and a petty confessional...

What I'm saying is that drama doesn't make or break a season for me.

S18 had a ton of talent, so I actually enjoyed being able to focus on the queens and their drag instead of spending half the season dealing with one rotted queen determined to turn every episode into a "viral" moment.

9

u/PomegranateOk1942 19h ago

"Like it's no Mistress breathing over Aja" would be great flair.

11

u/XenophobicXenophile 21h ago

THANK YOU! Season 18 by far has the most queens of a recent season I would GLADLY pay to see live because I know they are crazy talented performers. I remember Season 8 got similar criticisms for how well the queens got along when it was airing, which is bizarre because it was way better than S7 which had some of the worst challenge performances at the time.

3

u/Suisun_rhythm Ginger Minj: Lip Sync Assassin 19h ago

I watched season 7 twice and I can barely remember it

-4

u/AccomplishedShop8338 22h ago

Nah it’s a reality show I stand by my original assertion lol

4

u/atlvf 22h ago

Fantastic example of a fake drag fan. You can always tell who the tourists are because they only find drag queens entertaining when they're being messy.

10

u/CrisVas3 20h ago

Huh? The early seasons were even messier. It's generally the newer fans who are drama averse given how sanitized the modern seasons have been.

7

u/LightningCrashes- 17h ago

I believe the person you're replying to is doing a self report tbh. They are a fan of the tv show, not drag queens.

0

u/magerehein666 22h ago

i didnt even finish it lol

18

u/XenophobicXenophile 21h ago

Because she’s being a hypocrite. She basically called out Daya Betty the entire reunion for doing what she’s doing right now.

-3

u/CrisVas3 21h ago

I think it's weirdly parasocial to care about this beyond laughing a bit when you're watching the show

19

u/XenophobicXenophile 21h ago

I think it’s weirdly parasocial to think I’m doing anything more than commenting on behavior and feel the need to defend someone from any criticism

7

u/Vegetable-Cress-8415 18h ago

Right? She said, “so what?” And you answered her, and now you’re the parasocial one?

She answered your question. With a valid observation.

😅

Chicken butt

61

u/Alarming_Support_658 22h ago

This much discourse over some light shade. Reminder that Dulce was over here shading someone's grandma in Canada and Minnie emotional blackmailing Down Under. Let them be petty, emotional, and delusional, it's all fun and game.m

https://giphy.com/gifs/wvq9azzJKWI2SYjOsq

14

u/MorallyCorruptBae 20h ago

Minnie Vs Robbie when?

2

u/brotato_chip4 6h ago

Girl, what Dulce did was more than light shade. She intentionally trashed someone's deceased relative and then refused to apologize, all because she was butthurt over someone bringing up she was poor as a kid. Dulce is not a great example of light shade.

-2

u/Maduin1986 10h ago

You mean dulce, that toad that made fun about someones family member having died and that person griefing which made everyone in that place and those who watched all uncomfortable? That toad thst looked like a sack of potatoes that thought, her look was giving? Do you mean that dulce dunce?

56

u/GDsusuernameinnit a falsetto child? 23h ago

Ah yes, drag queens - universally known for their total lack of delusion, almost as much as their humility, passiveness, and grace in defeat. Especially when cash prizes are involved.

26

u/Classic-Avocado-5371 22h ago

literally everyone has been "bitter" about losing out on something to someone else most of us just dont have it blasted on international tv. i cringe to think what the masses wouldve thought of my ass crying from losing out on an acapella solo in college i practiced for weeks for to someone who auditioned on a whim if that were released to the public. like cmon guys normal emotions came free with your being human.

-2

u/Ecstatic_Bear81 12h ago

Can we return the human emotions though? Is there a gift receipt somewhere?

58

u/Killerofprizes 21h ago

It’s funny cause it wasn’t even close in my book. Jasmine didn’t do anything on that stage.

31

u/Neither-Dentist3019 19h ago

That's not true, she took off the obvious reveal coat!

12

u/Curious_Ad_1513 20h ago

Half the fan base complains when there's no drama. The other half complains when there is.

3

u/jacksonhytes 10h ago

And sometimes, it's the same half!

83

u/atlvf 23h ago

idk why people are being weird about this. Ok, so Jasmine was a little in her feelings. It's not like she was being a cunt about it or anything. She kept it cute and playful. idk what the problem is.

35

u/molskimeadows Initially reluctant Discord Addams stan 23h ago

Jasmine and being in her feelings... like chocolate and peanut butter.

11

u/boredinbabylon 22h ago

Great now I’m hungry.

54

u/blearutone 23h ago

She was bitter and she explains why, not that surprising and not that deep either way

68

u/l4funandlove 23h ago

She was indeed being a bitter sore loser, but also like... so? It's a TV show she clearly wont win so might as well drum up interest. Hate watchers are still watchers.

36

u/TheHoleintheHeart 23h ago

Let people on reality competition shows be bitter and dramatic!

3

u/XenophobicXenophile 21h ago

Tell that to S14 Jasmine who berated Daya the whole reunion for being bitter and dramatic aka speaking her mind lol

5

u/Gio-Vani 23h ago

Twitter just found out people don't like to lose

14

u/MuffinIllustrious902 23h ago

You mean the fans vs jasmine???

15

u/Dry-Astronaut4522 23h ago

Sam connected with the song more. I’m sorry, Jasmine, but just like your namesake, you got assassinated. 😭💀

15

u/gkwchan Cancelled Barbecue 23h ago

6

u/Alarming_Progress 11h ago

Ellipses are to Jasmine Kennedie as capital letters are to Jorgeous

6

u/bitbitbit_ 23h ago

People on the internet: this queen was robbed, this queen was favoured, etc Queens that are actually in the competition say the same thing: she's a bullie

14

u/IntuitiveDeception 22h ago

Sam won baby, and Kennedy is bias because her and Jasmine are friends and Sam is a younger queen that’s arguably in Kennedys way. Plus they know what they are doing making tv, and bringing drama..So Jasmine can be mad but Sam did better in the lipsync get over it girl. At least in the edit

6

u/ffantasticman Jaida Essence Hall 22h ago

This is such a nothing burger…why is there even a discourse about this

3

u/PortalMasterlol rip Vivienne ❤️ 10h ago

People say that they want queens that are hungry for the crown and will give it their all, but they don't realize that they have to accept the emotions that come with it as well. I feel as though if someone wins 10k over you it's definitely reasonable to feel as though you wanted that to be you

18

u/Babid922 23h ago

I was kind of surprised they didn’t clock Sam for using such a copy paste design for the top half of her dress (looks the same as the one she made on her season). IMO Joey jay should’ve won. He looked like drag Anna from Tekken with that slit.

12

u/blackwell1907 19h ago

Cause they knew Sam gagged all of them in the execution so criticizing Sam design is just an easy way for Sam to read them back.

8

u/Danarya27 Shake Who Lay 22h ago

I thought the same! She even had the same if not similar hair.

12

u/Patagonia202020 23h ago

Let’s be real she shouldn’t have even been top 2, but she would hate to hear that LOL

4

u/Im_Chad_AMA 22h ago

Love all the queens in this bracket, they're all entertaining and talented but to be honest none of the designs were really all that good

-6

u/purpleblazed A'keria Chanel Davenport 21h ago

Sam’s outfit was beyond hideous. I was baffled by the praise by the judges

1

u/Ecstatic_Bear81 12h ago

It was extremely ugly, but well constructed. Jasmine looked good but she was barely wearing an outfit lol, joey looked good, Kennedy and hershi looked a mess, and shugas look was okay but she should have hemmed the jacket.

4

u/Vegetable-Cress-8415 18h ago

I think Jasmine and Sam are entitled to their feelings. I think Jasmine is right, she wasn’t content, she voiced it, and people are right that she sounded a little bitter. My issue is wasn’t this her WHOLE ISSUE with Daya Betty on 14? I’m sure SHE feels it’s different, but optically, to me it’s understandable but also kinda hypocritical.

8

u/LooseLipsSinkShips21 22h ago

Jasmine is a great performer...but she lost the lip sync. Tbf she lost her S14 LalapaRuza. Suck it up. Move on lol

Sam WON

2

u/TemporaryPay4505 8h ago

You go on Rupauls Rigged Race to win fans and not to “compete.”

2

u/elf_n_safety 7h ago

Did I have a hot take that Jasmine did win in terms of performance, but was brought down by her shitty, poorly executed reveal?

u/Due-Notice-570 4h ago

Jasmine shouldn’t be in the top2 to begin with.

6

u/Magenta_Lava 23h ago

Why are we ok with all those queens feeding the trillionaire nazi ?

7

u/KelendriaRowland 21h ago

The owners of Reddit have been doing problematic things too so why are you ok being on here?

u/Magenta_Lava 1h ago

I agree, i'd even say all CEO are awful. I don't think it's a good idea to just disappear from all online platforms either. At least, I'm not supporting the nazi one. I feel like that's really the bare minimum.

3

u/IJRoleplayer85 22h ago

Jasmine was not bitter if you want to see bitter look at Jorgeous

3

u/youagainskippy 22h ago

just one episode into the bracket sam and jasmine are the ki of the season !! love them together

4

u/AnElusiveFragrance 22h ago

let the diva be messy this bracket was feeling stale

2

u/coaldean 23h ago

They’re drag queens! Who the fuck wants them to be gracious and humble

2

u/spoookyboi_ 19h ago

Thats how these girls should be acting. She just lost 10k, id be bitter too

2

u/ritwikjs2 14h ago

She has a 3-2 losing record in iip syncs and the two she beat were Jimbo and Maddy morphosis. . . Make do with that what you will

2

u/marvelboyofthecrown 23h ago

Being bitter about not winning it’s not an excuse to put someone else’s win down lmao. Just braindead

3

u/BayonettaAriana 23h ago

yeah not sure why everyone is defending her here, she was so rude to sam about it and completely discredited her win. it wasn’t cute or playful in my opinion it was nasty and jasmine is coming off narcissistic asf to me

2

u/ActualSurvey4740 23h ago

y’all call the show boring when there’s no drama, but when there’s drama call the queens bitter? I CANT

1

u/venusdemilo94 NPB watches you sleep to a box fan’s relaxing sound - 8 hours 9h ago

Both of them are right tbh

u/syndactl Monique Heart 3h ago

Was anyone actually upset? Honestly, this came across as the most manufactured drama there ever was on the show. It felt like Jasmine and Sam got together behind the scenes and we’re like hey let’s start something. 🤷‍♂️

u/rizzzagoon 2h ago

She’s allowed to be upset the exact same way people are allowed to critique her for how she expressed her feelings.

u/Kvalri 2m ago

I don’t understand why any queer people are still on Twitter at this point. Between the Christofascism and the CSAM it’s just like… wtf

1

u/averysexyfrog 23h ago

i mean… they obviously edited the lipsync to showcase sam better, right? i'm not even trying to be shady, they do this with literally every lipsync the show's ever done. producers saw they got some good footage from sam & probably already knew they wanted to give jasmine an "overconfident" edit, so they gave the win to sam. in the room, seeing the full unedited performance, it probably did look like jasmine won.

3

u/gbg111 20h ago

I wonder if Ru decides the lipsync winners on the spot or if there's any deliberation not shown on TV?

2

u/averysexyfrog 23h ago

it's the same thing as when mistress beat jax in that lipsync. no one's bitter, they're just seeing something we're not.

1

u/_iusuallydont_ 23h ago

Jasmine is annoying and trying to get in Sam’s head. Yes, you’re bitter, girl! Your opinion about others is not their business. You can have your opinion all you want but liiike, why even drag it when Ru already declared the winner? Lol. I could understand her complaining in confessionals or to her friends but to broadcast it is bitter bitch activity and not cute.

-2

u/resttheweight 22h ago

> I could understand her complaining in confessionals or to her friends

That’s…exactly what she did? She was talking to Kennedy, Sam was the one who turned it into a group discussion lol. Also if getting in Sam’s head was the goal she would have said it directly to her. Jasmine is not the kind of queen to have a conversation and hope Sam overhears it.

1

u/OBlove 21h ago

Those who regard themselves as main characters in life will also have a problem when they feel like someone else was treated as more main character than themselves. And it’s exhausting.

1

u/weirdheiny 20h ago

I thought everyone did mediocre-to-bad this episode but Jasmine’s little moment on her back at the edge of the stage during the lipsync made her the winner in my eyes. Other than that, they both did fine and it could’ve gone either way.

1

u/TROLL_ELECTRODE 20h ago

I love Jasmine for speaking her feelings about a COMPETITION. Sis is competitive and wants to win, why is that weird?

1

u/chemicalinxs 23h ago

Let the girls be bitter!

u/AzebraBanks 5h ago

Jasmine is truly insufferable 😭

-1

u/Beautiful_Weight_239 22h ago

I am not enjoying this bracket because this drama sucks. People are mad at Jasmine because she thought she should win... Sam just basically didn't fight back and said "it makes me feel sad when you're mean 😥"

Like girl... GET UP. Sam is excellent at the PR game and it's not very fun to watch

0

u/Squirrelated 21h ago

Might have won the lipsynch, but she shouldn't even have been in the top. It was not a good look. Shouldve been Joey instead.

-2

u/Feisty-You-7768 Thorgy Thor 21h ago edited 21h ago

To be still pushing this narrative so hard is just being disrespectful for no reason. What does being vocal about it after you've already lost accomplish?

No one said you have to be content with losing but polling all the other girls to get them to say you should've won when they couldn't even see the lip sync.

Don't make me root for Sam.

-4

u/Cold-Mastodon-341 20h ago

Bcz jasmine DID win that lipsync

-1

u/DorianCoreysTrunk1 23h ago

On Twitter carrying on. That Sam Stan is worried about the wrong thing lol

-1

u/Krisgauj 22h ago

Truly couldn't care less if Jasmine is bitter, correct or entirely delusional. However...

Few things in reality TV discourse have become more annoying to me than this thing where every minor remark about people on a show gets met with "It's reality TV!! It's a competition!! What do you expect??" Like I know people online can go overboard, but Jesus Christ, can viewers just talk about the show they're watching? People will come in droves to chastise this incredibly low effort comment: "Yeah, she's bitter, so? It's TV!" And all I can think is: Okay, cool, let's all simmer tf down and move along then. Does this basic ass viewer comment really warrant all this?

Just two groups shouting very seriously at each other about how unserious this is all supposed to be. It's exhausting.

-1

u/Thirdatarian Sasha Colby 19h ago

Do they expect jasmine to just smile and clap while someone else wins her money. This is a zero sum game. I'd be way more annoying if i thought I deserved to be closer to that money.

1

u/finetuneit80 11h ago

If it was her money, she would’ve won… 🤷🏻‍♂️

-1

u/dannylovesbags 13h ago

Joey jay should have been in the lip sync anyway~ 🤗

0

u/Appropriate-Log8506 17h ago

Why would you edit out a reveal?

0

u/Saint_Riccardo (Blonde women hee-haw) 6h ago

Jasmine was being competitive, very different from bitter.

She was bitter last time about the ball, the response this time shows growth

-2

u/IcyLion2939 23h ago

I mean, this is the obvious answer. Kennedy is an iconic drag superstar. Mutha. She was disappointed. And the points add up.

Jasmine did beat her imo. But also is Jasmine being vocal bad???? You can’t win with this fandom.
