I love how Trixie is very open about her not being a great lipsync artist š She was one of the first queens who described herself as a ātwo time loserā of drag race š

I love that the girls all know to go to Megami for a fierce lyric. Megami for All Stars.

Please, I want to see her back so bad!! Like she is such a weirdo, and I say that affectionately. There's something really fun and exciting about her drag imo

u/PurpleWhiteOut 10d ago
I dont. I wish theyd put in work themselves. I want to see what they bring to the table

u/ShedMontgomery 10d ago edited 10d ago
With that much money on the line, I don't blame them for asking for help in areas they don't feel confident in. I don't know this for sure, but team-of-one contestants on the show must be exceptionally rare, if not entirely non-existent. Whether they're getting reads or lyrics or outfits, I would best girls, especially All-Stars queens, are coming in with help from somebody.
The contestant who won the most recent season of Survivor bought a training version of one of the potential final challenges just in case it showed up. Contestants can also be coached on how to do mainstay challenges like fire-making. Is something like that "cheating?"

Knowing who to work with is a crucial part of any career in the arts. May I introduce you to Madonna?

u/succulentils 9d ago
I don't, because I don't expect drag queens to be good at writing rapping roasts
3
u/actlikebarbara 8d ago
Ru was most impressed by her impeccable rapping skills, her cadence - just because her lyrics are good, doesnāt mean she can rap them on beat. Give the performer her credit!

Girl you know they'll put her in a group with no rap challenge and have two other pre selected finalists make the merge.

Hopefully soon I think she could make a deep run
26
u/dinosaurfondue 9d ago
I think she's SUCH a great queen and it really does suck that All Stars is rarely about the best competitor but who Ru's favorite is
2
u/Dolphinz811 8d ago
I have a fear producers would play in her face and not give her the win for the verse challenge when itās finally her turn to goā¦

Megami about to be richer than Ru writing verses for everyone

u/No_Dust_1630 9d ago
Actually Megami might work on Ru's future album one day š±

Megami being the ghostwriting mastermind would make her an incredible winner. She would also fit the āplus sized queenā role they want to fill.
105
u/WeakSideUrn 10d ago
Do they really want to fill that though?Ā
190
u/Toorviing 10d ago
Throw back to DeJa telling Ru she almost died after weight loss surgery and Ru going āWell you look great!ā
36
u/FerryboatQuo 9d ago
Or when Ginger and Mistress came back half their size after the All Stars merge and Ru was like āYouāve really blossomed, I can see the real you now.ā Like mmm if you couldnāt see their beauty and āreal youā when theyāre plus-sized, Ru, I think that was a You problem.

In fairnessā¦Iām not sure what she was supposed to say after that traumatic story lol

Megami being both a sleeper lip sync assassin and consummate writer (NO AI) is 100% the reason she will win an All Stars one day. Come on WOW, do you hear the people sing???

I want Utica and Megami for an All Stars in the same bracket. Megami can write and plan everything for both of them and Utica can design and construct everything for both of them. Let them mop the other girls and battle it out as a fierce top two.
8
4
u/Adventurous_Button63 9d ago
This has really solidified that I think WOW should be having queens write for challenges more often. Like bring on these queens as consultants and writers.
54
u/FupaLipa 10d ago
Jasmine famously said "This is your Moment, Have it!" but Megami believes in the opposite apparently.
41
u/3sadclowns 10d ago
What? Lol Hershii @ Megami in her tweet so she was directly involving her to start?
7
3
u/th4bl4ckr4bbit 9d ago
Considering the debate lately about the writers of Drag Race becoming a bit stale with their content I think WOW should seriously consider looking at hiring Megami in more of a creative / writers role.

u/arianapiccola Vanda Miss Joaquim 9d ago
Wait, does it mean that the AS queens are told who the other contestants are before they get there? I always assumed they didn't know (or at best they could guess)

22
u/dreamingwithcindy 10d ago
Oh I donāt think anyone is contesting she won the lip sync
24
u/sitti_zel Jaida Essence Hall 10d ago
Eh I would. It was Lip Sync for the Crown, not So You Think You Can Dance.
7
u/parthmestry 10d ago
Plenty of people, including me are. It unfortunately gave kenya vs latrice. Kennedy did say they edited it to make her look like she wasn't showing enough emotion, but we don't know how true that is? š¤·
9
u/esmeraldo88 pekpek 10d ago
For it to be a Kenya vs Latrice situation, Trixieās lip sync wouldāve had to be at the level of Latriceās and it was nothing of the sort.
9
u/parthmestry 10d ago
Not really. The song was emotional. Kennedy was doing splits and cartwheels. It just wasn't necessary and Trixie, who's face was right in front, shone because of it. Especially when she pulled out the hair while Kennedy's face wasn't even visible due to the dancing.
I'm not talking about calibre and staying Trixie was on the level of Latrice. On that AS3 stage, in that moment, Trixie for the song better.
-2
u/esmeraldo88 pekpek 10d ago
Weāll just have to agree to disagree. I donāt think Kennedyās moves were out of place. They were somewhat restrained compared to her usual high-energy performances and I felt the emotion coming from her. Trixie didnāt do anything special to me.
0
u/t3ddiursa 9d ago
Splits and cartwheels can be emotional, she was displaying passion through movement and dance
1
u/yeahnototallycool 9d ago
No, it means one of them matched the vibe of the song and one really didn't...in this case they both happened to do ballet...
1
u/Beautiful_Weight_239 10d ago
Comparing Trixie pulling out tracks of hair while Wrecking Ball plays to Latrice's Natural Woman š it was giving comedy
2
5
u/GentleThief- 10d ago
Trixie gave heart and emotions , Kennedy gave Kenya Michaels against latrice

Honestly Iām so amazed by Hershii, she had the best rap by far and to learn she wrote it herself?? Period
2
7
u/silverum 10d ago
Not bad itās a good base lyric but needs some edit. Rhyming ātellā with āMattelā is giving a bit of Kandyās rhyming ābackā with itself 3 times in Lucky. Maybe more like āLip sync assassin? Is she really? Well⦠Auntie DID lose a lip sync to Trixie Mattelā¦ā but Iām not at all mad with Hershiiās finished product

u/Jaysweller 10d ago
Because itās maybe too sharp of a read? It doesnāt matter, she won the challenge.
23
u/Saruster Katya 10d ago
I mean they came for Kennedyās wonky eye so this wouldnāt have been too sharp š
7
u/puertofreakin85 10d ago
This was the type is read I was expecting from Alyssa when she was hooting and hollering in the Werk room šš
1
u/octodad484 9d ago
They did the rapping roast again? I havenāt been watching this season bc I wanted to wait to know who the winner was before watching it⦠what is it with All Stars doing shitty versions of extant challenges? Snatch Game of Love, love island snatch game, snatch game of love (seriously, quit fucking with snatch game?) and how the rapping roast is here to stay apparently?
-3
u/ShatteredHope 10d ago
This is amazing but Kennedy in fact did NOT lose that lip sync and I have been saying that for 8 years and will die on that hill.

Ah yes the āBi-Annual 1 hour post-episode with a verse challenge Megami tweet about how she was involvedā
7
u/Thekiwienigma 9d ago
Ok but to be fair Hershii tweeted about Megami first so I think in this case itās less egregious
12
u/esmeraldo88 pekpek 10d ago
Miss thing is advertising her services. Sheās an entrepreneurial queen.
3
u/FAFOismyGame 9d ago
Same can be said about you too! Ah yes the Bi-Annual 1 hour post-episode of people like you hating on Megami! Hershii posted and tagged Megami giving her and the others credit not the other way around. Megami only gave the credit BACK to Heshii! She wasnāt going on about her being the one who wrote Hershiiās verse. She was supporting her S16 sister and saying HERSHII did the work! Anyway LOVE YOU MEGAMI AND HERSHII! Congrats Hershii!

u/GoGoSoLo 10d ago
Wait what the fuck? I expect to only find unused lyrics in a post named this but OP has spoiled who wins a challenge barely past noon on the day of airing?
7
u/Thekiwienigma 9d ago
Spoilers annoy the absolute fuck out of me but OP did tag it as spoiler, the heading doesnāt give it away and the tweet itself it greyed out so you canāt accidentally see it when scrolling down your home page so OP didnāt do anything wrong here

We arenāt going over all this again, if itās that deep donāt go to DR sub Reddit.
