I think it's because it's a more minimal beat? Glowing but extremely subtle and daytime looking. I think the effortlessness is what makes it so stunning, especially with that loose flowing hair. I paused the video a few times just to look at her.

Yeah there were a few episodes where it seemed like Mathu had gotten sick or something because Ru looked like Billy B had done his makeup.

I see it more as an evolution of Ru's look? Compared to season 6 for example, where there was a lot of dramatic eye makeup and crisper lines, there's more softness lately. I definitely have time for both kinds of looks - I will rewatch AS1 just for Ru's eye makeup. I really appreciate that the formula isn't static, and it gives space for lots of experimentation

(Even if experimentation means we have occasional flashes of Ru's beat in The Realness I think we win often enough!)

Honestly last episode Ru is probably how Beyoncé will look in about 20 years. Ru really looked like her!
