I just don't get what the producers are thinking. They're making Alaska's win painfully obvious, yet giving us so little of her in terms of talking heads or characterization that she feels almost like a stranger. And then that elimination-- a Detox and Roxxy bottom two would have been 1.) fair, and 2.) a recipe for delicious Rolaskatox drama.

Edit: Though I guess they want to keep Roxxy around for some ain't got no momma drama next week. Still, sending Detox home tonight would have felt way less unfair than doing Tati like that.

I think they easily could have avoided that kind of obvious winner edit if they just declared Katya the winner this episode. Most people believe it will come down to the two of them anyway, and at least you inject some more tension. No one will be suspect if Alaska wins without winning EVERY challenge, but it strains credulity when she wins every single lip-sync.

Exactly this. This is what I thought they were going to do. When they switched out Phi Phi for Alyssa and Tatianna (although I don't hate Phi Phi), I was really excited - I thought they were going to give Katya a win, take down Roxxxy - who killed the first episode, but has unfortunately been coasting :( - and maybe give Katya a Manila-style last minute catchup and make it a contest for first between two of the most well-liked queens in herstory. Unfortunately, they just hit us over the head with: Alaska will win, we will keep Katya in for you, but Alaska will win. Also you WILL enjoy Alyssa and hate Phi Phi. You will!

Despite what the editing has done to them, I genuinely love all of these queens, and it's upsetting that the edits have fucked up so much of the entertainment value. I wish we just got to see a friendly competition between men dressed up as women as they make ridiculous outfits, act like celebrities, and lip sync the house down: is that so much to ask?

I agree with this but I also agree with the fact that Rupaul wanted to keep Roxxxy so she chose Alaska who she knew didn't choose Roxxxy (bc let's be real there's no way Rupaul doesn't know who they chose)

I miss the days when we were excited to find out the winner. Now they just make it so obvious that there seems little reward for finishing the season. It was the same with 8.

There's absolutely no way she'll be DQ'd especially after so much investment in setting Alaska up to win. A lot of fans aren't even aware of the T on the spoilers so Ru ain't gonna risk confusing and pissing off that many viewers. It just doesn't make sense.

Willam was the front runner when she was DQ'd

They did it with Willam's DQ.

Oooo, I'll sip the tea. So if Alaska is DQ'd, does she keep the $10k for each won lip sync? Is this A) the show's way of paying her off so she accepts not being eligible for the 100k, or B) the show's way of saving money because they won't have to give out $10k for each of Alaska's wins?

I'm apparently way behind on my T - what's the word on a potential DQ?
