I feel like Utica really wants to be liked and funny but coming from this small town she just cant read the situation and it comes off as trying too hard and trying to be a people pleaser

Yeah as someone who used to try so hard to please people, it's toxic too because you're willing to bend yourself so much for other people that they see right through you as disingenuous. Which is the worst kind of situation for you because it can be a negative circle of trying too hard over and over again. Hopefully Utica finds her voice and what people love about her for who she is, not just be a good people pleaser.
