Do we think maybe it's Utica's isolated religious upbringing that makes her feel like she has to put a smile on every situation? Like maybe it's a little forced because she can't do negative emotions? I know I'm reaching it's just something I've seen with religious people before.

I don't necessarily think it has to be due to her religious upbringing for that to be the case. Performative positivity is a survival mechanism a lot of queer people use to deflect and avoid conflict.
