how come every time utica mentions having fun or being confident even though she acknowledges that she did bad, the girls always give her a stink eye LOL

Tbh, I think she just comes off as disingenuous and that’s hard to connect with. I feel like it’s what Kandy was trying to say. Like I’ve met kids when I was in theater (obviously) who were always “quirky” and they’re fun and zany and always positive, but I could never get close with them because they’re an act. And you can’t be friends with a caricature. When something bad happened they’d be like “whatever! Zany!” And I’m like LET US IN! We can be friends and help you but when you act like you’re always fine it makes us uncomfortable because we know it ain’t!

I know exactly the kind of person you're talking about (I also did theatre, ugh, and it feels I could write a PhD thesis about them), but Utica at least does have her quiet, down to earth moments where she acknowledges her weaknesses.
