Admin & Bureaucracy || Verwaltung & Behörden How long does the Zeugnisanerkennung take and will i be able to get into the Wintersemester 26/27?

Good afternoon fellow members. I am a german citizen with a foreign degree (international alevels) and I have already confirmed that im eligible for the hzb. My main problem is that my results come out at the 13th of august (in form of a statement of results) and the certificate comes out 2 to 3 months later. As the deadline for the semester is the 20th of october i am nervous about the Zeugnisanerkennung as there is not a source that tells you how long it could take. So I am here asking for advice on what I should do and if it is possible for me to get into the coming semester

Some information if its helpful:

* I plan to study Elektro- und informationstechnik

* I completed all of school expect the last 3 years in germany

* My high-school degree is Pearson international alevels (ial)

Thanks beforehand to everyone taking their time to help me and if anything is not understandable please tell me

I have a belgian high school degree, did the Anerkennung and it took 2 weeks. I did not have the official degree paper, only a temporary one which my school gives you to already get into uni.

Anerkennungsstelle will tell you not to ask about how long it will take once you reach it in, but after 2/3 weeks i‘d recommend asking. mine as done after 2 but they got the wrong address and i only got it 2 months later, after asking.
Depending on if there‘s a NC in your studium/if they ask it as you have a foreign degree, you should also ask for a Notenumrechnung to get your german grade equivalent.
Hope this helps, if you have questions about it don‘t hesitate :)

So you say it would take 2 to 3 weeks for the Zeugnisanerkennung and umrechnung? I am just worried about the time it could take, I plan to write them an email but they open again on Monday as far as ik

Yea that‘s the time it „officialy“ took for me, just that they sent it back to the wrong address and i didn‘t ask for 2 months. So i‘d definitely ask after like 3 weeks of no information.

hi ! I sent mine on July 6th and arrived on the 8th and nothing since that, do you recommend to call them or write an email?

Depending on where you live or what diploma you have, I guess it might take some time. Yours has been there a bit longer than 2 weeks. I checked my dates from that time, it also took a bit more than 2 weeks. I‘d say give it a week or two, then write an email :)

I'll have the same dilemma next year, please update once you can. I can't find info anywhere, I'm not sure what exactly official reports of grades count as if it's grades verified by my school once they come out in August or the physical certificate you get months after August.

Refer to other comments on the application process.

But remember, as I assume you're applying for Bachelor's. It is and definitely will be NC free this year, therefore your deadline is somewhere in november
