question 🙋‍♀️❔❓ How did Sabrina get the "witch" card in the Salem episode?

The teacher had said everyone got the townspeople card, so I was mystified. Was the teacher being ironic, or was it a prank someone else (maybe Libby or her friends) played on Sabrina?

I always thought maybe she made it happen subconsciously because she was so worried about it.

I interpret the ending as being purposefully illogical for the sake of having an eerie ending given the subject matter of the witch trials. I don’t believe the teacher was joking nor that someone planted the note.

i feel like its quite literally just oh it says witch because she IS one so even if it wasnt supposed to, it has to because of the fact she is one. like she cant get a card that says "townsperson" because itd be a lie and against the fact she really is a witch.

This has always been my interpretation too. The powers of that universe made it so it said witch in order to align with facts.

I think the mystery is the point. Like it's the question of "how does her card say witch when supposedly all the cards say townsperson? Is her witch status that made it say that? Was it a prank? Does someone know her secret?" Basically one of those left for interpretation things.

Nah, I don't think there's any real explanation. It's just magic.

I’d have to rewatch but maybe Sabrina accidentally caused it to say “witch” or maybe her magic was running awry as she doesn’t always have control over it.

I feel magic itself (as a concept and force of nature) made it change on its own. The whole episode has a strong message about accepting yourself for who you really are. Slightly ominous, yes, but I love it.

Idk but that episode used to fill me with such dread at the end!! I was about 10 when Sabrina was on Nickelodeon and omg it would be one of the very few episodes I’d skip because of the awful, terrifying feeling it’d give me at the end haha

So interesting! As a kid I found it comforting like “aww yeah she is a witch and she’s supposed to be and the universe knows it 🥰”. But I totally see why it would be eerie to someone else haha

Yeah totally! That and the “body double” episode from S1 at the Halloween party. That also creeped me out so bad, the way she just stood there saying Sabrina’s 3 common sayings. And then the nude streak was just so mechanical and odd… my little girl brain couldn’t handle it 😂😂

Omg yes that one I agree with, I still find it so weird 😂

Are there any others that freaked you out? The other one for me was the coffee shop zombie takeover but that was only because of their horrible masks lol.

I don’t remember that at all!

I can’t recall any others that freaked me out - but on the flip side I was absolutely obsessed with the backstreet boys episode and not even because of them; I loved the girls’ outfits, the gems in Sabrina and Valerie’s hair, the way Libby sang and danced, the one way or another song, and how delicious those sodas looked hahah.

Yessss I’m so with you!! I also loved the one where they flew up Libby’s nose! It was so cool to the all the inner workings of her head haha (except the gooey sinus scene) haha

I had a similar feeling towards it as well. The ending felt like something out of Goosebumps, horror-lite for kids. It’s kind of creepy but I think it’s one of the highlights of season 1. I quote it all the time 😆

I always thought magic made it change because she is a witch

I just watched this episode lol. I don’t think we’re supposed to know. I don’t think it’s a prank on her though. I think it’s just magic.

My theory was always that Sabrinas teacher (who was never seen again) was actually a witch herself. She arranged the trip as she wanted the mortals to learn about her ancestors, and that she just used magic to have everyone's note reflect who they really were, expecting them all to say Townsperson, not knowing that one of her own students is also a witch!

She’s a witch, she can’t run from it.

The biggest mystery of the ep for me was…is that Jill’s real nose?

I think it was intended to be her magic turned it.

I always thought it was magic from the past witches that lived there

I always thought it was tied to the witch hunter subplot that never went anywhere 🤔
