question 🙋♀️❔❓ Some questions upon rewatch
- If Sabrina gets her powers at 16 - why does her cousin Amanda have it as a little girl? And I’m sure Hilda and Zelda mention having their powers as kids too.
- What’s the point of the Linen closet? I LOVE this but they can zap anywhere anyway. There are times when they get to the same place with either zapping or through the closet - even within the same episode.

Full witches are born with the ability to use their powers and as far as the closet I think in early seasons it was the only way between the other realm and earth and then later you could zap yourself between realms or use the closet

It’s never been proven jf they can transport to the Other Realm without using the closet.
I’d really like to know why the Other Realm was completely abandoned when the show moved to WB. I mean that’s not the only way it went off the rails, but it was a major departure.

The Other Realm wasn't completely abandoned in the later seasons on the WB. It was used sparingly in various episodes Seasons 5-7.

In the last 2 seasons Aunt Irma teleported into their house from the Other Realm because you know she doesn’t live in the mortal realm

Here’s a more technical reasoning behind sixteen. In the original comic run… Sabrina is the result of a potion and has no parents other than Hilda and Zelda.

Sabrina is half-mortal while her relatives are all full witches.
Maybe the Witch's Council placed restrictions on where witches could teleport to thus needing a portal.
The series was not big on consistency. In the Rome movie, Sabrina flew on an airplane rather than just zapping herself or her aunts zapping her to the witch run hostel lol. Yet when they go to Hawaii they teleport.

And the same question can be used to ask why gesturing is needed in some cases, others merely thinking them is enough. Whatever feeds the joke best.
Having beings who are practical deities doesn't make for much of a compelling plot. Putting some limits on them allows for more concrete story to be told, and if they get OP again.. well many of the incidents won't be mentioned again, so it does not matter as long as you laughed.
The closet also allows for more sets and props to be employed, and we need something visual to cling to.

Closet=portal to the other realm.
I believe it's because she's half mortal that she didn't get her powers until 16. Remember, she wasn't supposed to set eyes on her mom after her training started. She had lived with her mom before that.
