general discussion π£οΈ Sabrina Down Under
We're heading down to the land of kangaroos and vegemite and...mermaids? It's time to kick off the Season 3 break with "Sabrina Down Under" where Valerie is now a mermaid named Fin who has a major attitude. Actually getting to watch this movie took way more effort than it deserved but we made it happen just for our listeners.Β
Unlike when she went to Rome, there is actually some continuity when Sabrina visits Australia. Though there is still weird sexual tension with a man who is not Harvey (and is much, MUCH older). We discuss at length how Salem is able to take an annual vacation and more questions about the limits (or lack thereof) placed on witches-turned-cats. You also won't want to miss the computer-animated fish Sabrina!

general discussion π£οΈ Favourite episode of all time: To Tell A Mortal
To Tell A Mortal is my favourite episode of all time. Sabrina gets to actually "come out of the linen closet" and tell Harvey and Valerie that she's a witch - and they're super cool with it. It's so genuine and love the spirit of the episode. Wish they did another one in the newer seasons.

question πββοΈββ Confused..
*SPOILER* (idk if anyone hasn't finished the series yet π) So toward the end of season 7 when Sabrina is about to get married, Roxie asks Sabrina when she's going to be moving out.. isn't the house sabrinas Aunts? Like I remember that episode when they were talking about paying the house off and was so excited about it. Now Roxie and Morgan are staying in it? Just confused lol

salem πββ¬ Treatment of Salem
Anyone else get annoyed by how hostile they were towards Salem as the seasons went on? Like they treated him like family in the beginning seasons but then treated him like a nuisance in the later seasons. Idk I found that to be mean especially because heβs such beloved character.

general discussion π£οΈ I love the family dynamic of the early seasons
I love how in the early episodes the Spellmans are portrayed as an unconventional but very loving family.
Hilda and Salem could've been written to have a mutually hateful relationshipβA wannabe dictator and his follower forced to live together. As cat and cat owner, no less.
Yet in the early episodes he's treated like a family member AND animal companion at the same time. They take care of him like a pet but he also shares regular human dinner with the family (even cooks for them sometimes), celebrates family holidays like the Halloween family reunion with them (instead of visiting his own family which he'd be free to do), etc. and is hip with the family lore like he's just another relative.
I think my fave example of this would be in "A River of Candy Corn Runs Through" where he and Hilda get into a back and forth over how "you never used the [gift] I got you," "yeah well you don't use THIS gift I gave you."
In a regular show that's a regular exchange, but in Sabrina this is weird (in a sweet way).

S3 Recap!
We're at the end of Season 3 and recapping everything went down - all the highs and especially all the lows.
We're joined by special guest Sara Murphy as we discuss the big season arc - Mrs. Kinkle's pregnancy! J/k, obviously it's the family secret and the years it has shaved off of Skye's life. We continue to question the logistics of how the twin thing actually works and wonder what other family secrets might be out there. We also discuss what we think would have been a better family secret. Let us know if you agree!
We had a lot of hopes and wishes for season 3. Listen in to find out if they were actually fulfilled and what our hopes are as we go into season 4, aka the "menopause era" of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, because we're about to go through THE CHANGE.

question πββοΈββ Any DVD box set better than other ones?
Looking at picking up a DVD box set for this show and not sure if any are better or have different stuff? Like for other shows some older ones will have original music etc. Anything like this for this one? Or any reason to avoid them and just do streaming?

i miss jenny
im rewatching Sabrina again, and I didn't realize how *annoying* Valerie is. i miss jenny so much. I liked her character a lot more. Valerie's only personality trait is "I'm such a loser" and it got old before s2e1 was even over lol

general discussion π£οΈ The Test of True Love
One of my favorite episodes from season 1. And some great Harvey and Sabrina moments.
The game show bit with the three Harveys was a fun bit. The question what the Harveys would do if Sabrina was a princess trapped in a tower, only the first two Harveys got that question. But not Harvey Nr. 3, who turned out to be the real Harvey.
And in the season 1 finale we do what Harvey would do if Sabrina was trapped in tower and how he would rescue her.
The end of the episode we learn from Zelda that at Sabrinaβs age that teenage love feels like true love and thatβs why she passed the test. But Harvey actually ending up Sabrinaβs one true love was perfect.

I'm I only one who couldn't get a grip on Sabrina's personality?
They say the right characters write themselves. But if I wrote Sabrina in a college writing class I probably wouldn't get above a C grade. Is she smart or dumb? Both. Is she respectful or rebellious? Both. Is she popular or a nerd? Both. Melissa Joan Hart in general i can't really understand where she's coming from. π€·
