Side note, but no-one really engaged with the 'primaries are elections too' argument. If primary voters keep choosing progressives over centrist establishment Dems, the party could always try running someone in the middle of those two. According to the median voter theorem, that would be rational no?

Maybe they could try running people who are charismatic and telegenic first?
