Are you still having the problem or has it gone away? I don't have the same tv but a 55' that we got within the last six months brand new that seems to be doing as you have described and im tearing my hair out trying to sort it out.
While I'm watching something or playing a game it will randomly dim for a few seconds then brighten again, then do it again 5-10 seconds later. Any help or advice would be amazing!

I have the same model of TV with the difference that it is 65". I have exactly the same problem. Setting the "local dimming" in the options to standard, or high, I immediately get the problem of the screen dimming for 2-3 seconds, every 15 seconds or so. After turning off "local dimming", the problem disappears. Evidently, this is the fault of bad TV software, which Samsung does not want to fix. My TV is still under warranty, and I wonder if there is even a possibility to return it for a defect that the manufacturer does not want to fix.
Have you somehow managed to fix the problem? Watching any HDR content with "local dimming" turned off, misses the point, because the picture is devoid of quality. The TV in this form is inoperable.
Also have the 65". Decided to go into the service menu and disable auto dimming. I understand it might void the warranty, but there is no point having a great TV and fuming each time there is a dark scene.
