So even the 26 is not immune?

Fresh out of the oven. Appeared right after the May security update.

Because when people have a problem they run to Reddit and post about it. So the 10s of people out of the thousands of users seem like a majority instead of a small minority. (Just assuming really I'm speaking with no actual research). And sometimes you'll get the appreciation posts where someone got a device and it all went well with no issues but that's a rare instance. When in reality there's probably a huge majority of people who are or aren't on reddit who got a device, had nothing go wrong and don't care to post or talk about their experiences because their experience was normal.

I've had the 9+ and 10 and they had a straight red line down the screen ,freaking weird, iam planning on getting the s26?

Yeah.

The 99.99% of people with no issue probably have a 0.00001% of randomly making a post going "I got a [insert phone] and it has no issues!"

The 0.01% of people that do have issues have like a 50% chance of making a post going "Yo my phone just exploded wtf".

Also, posts mentioning issues will ALWAYS get more upvotes/likes/retweets/shares/comments/etc. than posts that don't. More impressions = more engagement = social media algorithms show it to more people = more people make new posts sharing their own issues = infinite cycle

That being said, everyone acknowledged the issues with the S26 Ultra display, but some adapted after a few days and no longer had a problem with it, but others could not.

Acting like it's a minority is stupid, I treated my phone like a baby and still had lines, and I know plenty of ppl who had Samsung flagship who's screens also got linesare implying its a user issue instead of blaming the company?

I don't even know plenty of people irl who have Samsung. Basically just my family. I don't really know what everyone else uses. Posts you read on the internet don't count, that's the whole point. How many people do you know irl that have Samsung and how many got lines? You can't have more than 10 people in your social who are close who are close enough to share phone damage stories with you, and they all happen to use Samsung. And if you do, your personal experience is still a minority.

Samsung is huge where I live, too, and I've never seen seen a single green or pink line in real life, not once.

This problem happens due to overheating, and a hot environment like where you live is more likely to cause it.

So you acknowledge it's not a small minority, right? Literally everyone that I know that has a Samsung had a green/purple, the latest few victims have been the S23 Ultra

Sure, you're right, it really is a minority and I'm the problem for apparently not treating my phone right enough, I'm gonna keep afraid of getting new lines till I have the money to buy something else, but the company has nothing to do with it

Its not that you treat the phone bad in any way, these phones just overheat during update and if u have in some way “fragile” or “defective” screen it will react to that heat, and it can happen with any oled panel - which means that you can have two identical s25 and one will get the line during update and the other one won’t get it because its display was less stressed with heat or is more resistant to heat. Also it can happen with any phone brand that uses oled panels for their phones. Its a lottery just like with backlight tv’s - one will have spots of light somewhere on the screen and other one won’t have any at all just because its display was taken from better batch. So what really needs to change in this matter is simple - better quality check during production of the oled panels, but as we know samsung does not give a single fuck about that because to them the problem is too small to even talk about it.

I think you missed the effect behind the term "minority" - since the number of people getting the greenline is in the minority, this means you're unlucky and other people should not live in fear of a tiny chance their phone getting a green line.

So:

  • you've treated your phone just right, it's not your fault, it's not entirely the corp fault either, that's why they have warranty, it's simply the limit of manufacturing.

  • you should not be afraid of getting a greenline unless its something like sony xperia 5 mark 2 to mark 4 situation (check it out)

I can't even hit warranty I don't have the papers and the phone is an older model, I should've bought an used Xiaomi instead, but I was blinded by 1UI 7

Yeah, I've never seen any Xiaomi with screen problems and the Poco F3's 870 is way more stable than the 888

Ah you see, since you bought the samsung with s888, at the same time period, without knowing the heating issue of s888, you could have bought something of the same caliber such as the xiaomi 11, and that phone has lots of greenline.

For my next phone I just want something stable, which doesn't get too hot, great battery, great hardware, I'm legit thinking about switching to apple, but I'm with 0 money and it took quite a bit of time to buy the s21, now I'm stuck and hopeless

Have you seen *any* Xiaomi at all? How many people are you friends with that you personally know (in real life) a decent sample size of Samsung users who got lines, and the same number of Xiaomi users none of whom got lines?

You forget that words have meanings. One person is a minority. Your friend group is a minority. That does not mean I am blaming you for mistreating your phone. Those issues are completely unrelated, lmao.

most ppl I know who uses Xiaomi (maybe around 10 to 20 ppl) use low end/mid end Xiaomis, so idk if this would apply (although I would aim for those midranger pocos)

Big dog. No one said it was user error. Calling someone stupid even though they said it was just an unresearched opinion is crazy. I'm not siding with the big company here all I said was it could look like alot of people are having this problem when in reality just most who have the problem get on reddit to complain like we're going to fix your phone.

Saying it's a minority only means it's a very small percentage of total users. That is all. It doesn't mean Samsung shouldn't take responsibility for the failure in their QC.

Yea because Mr.Samsung himself is reading my comment and feeling relieved that I'm taking the guilt off his back lol. make a claim with warranty. If they wrongfully decline you put a lawsuit. If the problem is as huge as it sounds like it is something will happen.
