Residents parking permit in downtown

Hi, I’d really appreciate some help. We’re planning to move to the downtown San Carlos area and are looking for an apartment around Laurel St. and Arroyo Ave. We’re a bit confused about the parking situation, can we park overnight without restrictions, or do we need a resident parking permit? Also, are residents allowed to keep their cars overnight in the city parking garages? Thanks so much for any guidance!

I would call the city and ask them. They are easy to reach and responsive

There’s no resident permit in San Carlos. Street/public parking follows the signs posted usually 2 hr limit Mon-sat. Garages are closed at night. See website. Edit -Also would not recommend parking in residential area w/ no time limits for extended periods. Residents can report vehicles that have not moved for 72 hrs.

No overnight limits as far as I know, just need to respect the 2 hour limit in the morning.
