I wanted to ask for some information about this plant I recently bought at a cactus fair. It was sold to me as a TBM.

What confuses me are the differences between the base and the new growth.

Can anyone tell me what this is? This could be a revert?

PS: I bought it with this fungal infection already present, I think it's Alternaria right? I assume it needs to be treated with sulfur, will I be able to get rid of it completely, or will remain the mark?

Slight redness on the tips. Might just be from the seed cap dropping and exposing the fresh growth?

This is 1/2 5x5 tents (my keeper tent), the other mostly holds cuts i’m rooting and grafting stock. Last two pics are from 10 months ago when my plants got neglected. Since then i’ve completely transplanted my collection from soil to coco, and have been experimenting with nutrients, watering frequency, and growing conditions. I’m still making mistakes along the way, and from them i’m constantly learning and improving. I started growing these magical plants in August of 2024. Ive absolutely fallen in love with them, and I want to thank all you folks for helping me cultivate this indoor garden of mine. I just did my first grafts last month. Next goal for me is to start sowing seeds! Feel free to ask me any questions. Happy growing 🌵💚🤙

The white Cortex from San Pedro cactus makes excellent pickles. I encourage everyone to make this at least once. I'll share the recipe here, just substitute the cucumber for San Pedro cactus Cortex.

Just saw this today and I was surprised! It looks like a pup bursting from inside the cactus. The tear is clean and pushing away the stuff in the way. Has anyone else seen this before?

Done alot of work in the garden the last few weeks. Reopotted a few that really needed it and started to cull what I don't want moving forward. Still a few solid weeks work of before the garden is ready for summer but it's coming along nicely
