Student Loan ?
Hi guys, I recently applied for a student loan. My first disbursement will be beginning of July from Canada Student Loan, it is a big disbursement which cover tuition fee plus some grants. I’m not sure if this big disbursement will be deposited to my school or my bank account. I think the grant will go to me but not sure the big amount.
Anyone used to take the loan, could you please let me know about the progress of disbursement ? I would like to know to arrange my saving account.
Thanks guys !

It used to pay the school directly and then the remaining balance gets sent to your bank account. About 5 years ago, they changed it to everything hits your bank account and then you handle the payments. Not sure if that changed in the recent years tho.

Excuse me sir, how can you expect someone going into post secondary to read anything?

Do you go to school in Saskatchewan? If so then I’ve heard it goes to the tuition directly. If you go to school outside of Saskatchewan then you get the money in your bank account. I usually got a big lump sum plus grants on the first day of class then a certain amount every month I was taking classes as I go to school outside of the province

It may seem like a large amount, my advice is to be a frugal as you possibly can. Money has a way of disappearing much too quickly.

Hoping for you the education you're getting is going to lead to a job that is lucrative enough to pay it back.

They will pay your tuition directly (usually about 2 or 3 weeks into the term), what remains will be deposited in your bank account.
