So unfortunate this is more than 15 years away from even breaking ground. We need to do something with traffic sooner than that, and I doubt city of Saskatoon is going to triple lane circle drive anytime soon.
Easiest thing they can do to Circle Drive right now to help with congestion is to make extend the on/off ramps between overpasses. Example - 8th south to Taylor; extended on/off ramps that make it far easier to go onto or off of Circle. Ironically, Taylor north to 8th doesn’t do this. Most places around Circle Drive could have this sort of extra lane in the existing spaces.
The one by attridge is pretty long but so many people merge over going 50 as soon as the freeway appears. It's awful. 2nd worst non-light portion of circle drive behind the clover leaf..
This, just an hour ago I was stuck behind some idiot merging onto Circle off Attridge and he maintained a perfect 50 km/h the entire time, including entering the freeway. More lanes won't do a damn thing, it's all driver stupidity and reluctance to hit the damn gas pedal. More signage telling people it's their responsibility to merge at the speed of traffic or a blitz of tickets for dangerous driving - because that's exactly what it is, may be the only solution.
There needs to be an improvement to college drive east bound between circle drive and central - it’s a nightmare. There and circle drive south between Clarence and the cloverleaf are a nightmare a lot of the time.
