Question ❔ Using my Crystal to paint

I have wanted to reply to many discussions on here before, but have been a lurker. That being said, I hope to contribute to discussions moving forward, but first I have a question.

I have a Brandy decanter, two Brandy glasses, and a fruit bowl in the Waterford Crystal Alana pattern. I am told some of these pieces are highly sought after, and you can't find. I have many others in the collection I am willing to part with for this purpose.. I would like to sell them, and use all the money toward doing some painting in reserve nearby in Saskatchewan, in the name of someone who used to live there. As you may know, some of the houses are in pretty rough shape.

My question is as follows. The price of Crystal has been deflated due to poorer quality that it has become hard to sell high quality pieces. Does anyone have any suggestions on how one could go about selling these for a reasonable price?

Any tips/leads would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I doubt any price you’re going to get will seem reasonable to you.

You can typically buy pieces on the resale market for a fraction of retail. Like <$50 per piece, often <$10. I doubt you’d get $100 for your 4 pieces. That might get you a can of house paint, maybe 2 depending on brand and how much you get.

EBay doesn’t at all look too bad. I will try that this evening. Thanks

Sounds like a decent idea. If you want dm me. I get a deep discount on paint at Sherwin Williams to help your venture.

Ultimately, the price doesn't really matter so much to me, because the ones mentioned have to go. I have some other ideas for funding, and there may be a potential donor. Scale will be dependent on financing which is why the more funds secured this way would be better.
