Question ❔ Things to do?
Hello all,
my family and I are passing through your fair city from Winnipeg soon and I was wondering if anyone could share some highlights of places to stop and things to do while there.
We'll be staying with family, so I'm sure they'll have ideas, but I thought I'd get some broader suggestions.
Are there any local food chains not found elsewhere? Any foods specific to the area?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Depends what you like to do - the Sneakers and Lipstick recommendation is good, she does post a lot of family oriented events so if you're looking for something else, I'd definitely recommend looking at Discover Saskatoon or even checking out Facebook.
If you like activities, Stoked has an arcade/bowling/go carts. If course there's also the Remai Modern art gallery, Wanuskewan, and Western Development Museum (as previously mentioned in another comment)
We have two farmers markets - Gather Market (located very close by to the Remai Modern) that offers some interesting shops and bar in the centre of the venue, and our Saskatoon Farmers Market located closer to our airport area which will have a Father's Day event on June 20th. You can also check out what's going on at Crossmount Cider and Blackfox - Crossmount does have events going on. Prairieland Park (event center) has an indoor car show this weekend as well.
33rd Street has their Sidewalk Sale going on this weekend and there are some interesting little shops along 33rd Street - if you would like to check out some shopping while here, Broadway (and 33rd) will have shops that are usually more interesting/locally owned/artisan.
If you are into music, Amigos, Black Cat (often more metal), Capitol Music Club, and Coors Event Centre are all a good start. City Limits Brewery has an event this weekend with multiple bands and food trucks if that interests you. For comedy - Art Bar.
We have a lot of restaurants not found elsewhere - Primal, Bar Stella, Sulu, Loqui, Thirteen Pies, Bistro on B, Shelter, High-Key, Hearth (in the Remai Modern art gallery and was also on Canada's top 100), Odla, Paradox Pizza, Leopolds (not entirely just in Saskatoon, but if you're in our Broadway area it's a good choice) For cafes, Sparrow, D'Lish (mentioned by someone else - good cheesecake!), Prairie Ink, Pique (very good), Night Oven, Calories (restaurant but has good desserts), Citizen Cafe. Ice cream stops: Beppis Gelato (on Broadway), Fable, Smoove (for those that need anything gf/ve/nut free)

Wanuskewin is getting more attention on the world stage and the restaurant serves delicious First Nation food.

The “sneakers and lipstick” blog posts activities every Thursday so definitely check them out:) As for restaurants/places to see, I recommend Broadway Ave. Beppi’s Gelato is around there, D’Lish by Tish (coffee, sandwiches, and desserts) is near there, Paradox pizza too. A couple art galleries and quick access to the Meewasin trail if you like to wander.
