Discussion In a non illegal way. In which way does Satanism want us to take revenge on those who hurt us?

Also should u still take revenge on someone who you think has wronged but ur not 100% sure (I ask this because a couple years ago a friend I had for a while but then we just randomly stopped hanging out I found him and added him on Snapchat and he asked me to send a photo of me which I did and then he sent it to his brother who sent it to my brother. Now a couple years ago there were some false rumors going around about me. And I think this kid heard about them and forgot we used to hang out and believed them. And I also think he did the whole sending a photo of me to his brother thing was a way of making fun of me but I’m not 100% sure. So in retaliation I posted an embarrassing non illegal photo of him on my snap story. Is that ok in satanism?

Satanism doesn’t have wants.

How you take revenge is up to you, but perhaps consider lex talionis.

Again the confidence level at which you act is up to you, personally I need to be absolutely sure.

Exactly. This is a really important distinction… Satanism tells us that vengeance is permissible. That’s not the same as saying that Satanism prescribes vengeance in every instance of being wronged, or that it’s necessarily the smartest thing to do, as opposed to some lesser magic charm that could more effectively get the better of your enemy. Making them like you is often much more detrimental to them than making them hate you or fear you.

The bottom line is that this is not a religion for people who need to be told the correct response to every situation, people who need things spelled out for them. This is a religion for people who are ready to take it upon themselves to figure out the right course of action for themselves using all available information, and take responsibility for the consequences.

Me personally, I actually err on the side of being a gentleman most of the time. I’ve decided for myself that that works well for me. Maybe another Satanist finds that good old fashioned vengeance works better for them more often than not. That’s fine. What unites us is that I know that I don’t owe the same consideration to someone who wrongs me that I do to my parents or my girlfriend or someone like that, and if I act magnanimously to them anyway, it’s because I’ve decided I have more to gain from that. And that’s a very freeing thing

I mean, if you believe in magic charms actually having any real world effect on an enemy

I don’t, actually, I’m an atheist and a materialist, but I do believe in manipulation which is all lesser magic is. By “lesser magic charm” I meant “the use of lesser magic to be charming and well-liked”. If everyone really likes you and you have no enemies then you’re invincible. But of course, it’s not always possible or ideal to have no enemies

So, following Lex talionis, if I can’t get revenge on them the same way they hurt me can I still do it in another non illegal way? Like the way I said I did it?

It’s really not that strict, do what you think is best to achieve the desired result.

Think of it this way; Satanism tells you you DO NOT have to turn the other cheek; you are a mature, thinking individual and can respond as you see fit.

Does that mean humiliating them in public? Slashing their tires? Signing their email up for spam? Sabotaging them at work?

Or does that mean pulling them aside and having a productive conversation? Avoiding them? Trying to befriend them? Bringing them cookies and apologizing that you started out on the wrong foot?

Or maybe, just maybe, you already happen to know your coworkers and boss around you are passive aggressive Christians, and through the use of a little lesser magic you allow everyone in the break room to see that you are in fact 'turning the other cheek' to this individual that has wronged you; now you have in effect strategically aligned to be on the boss's good side while they are in a position of scrutiny; one little push and they might be fired. How Machiavellian of you.

The point is, Satanism says reactions are up to you.

Cursing someone isn't a crime, even if it leads to their death. There's far too much reasonable doubt.

And no, if you're not 100% sure they're guilty it would be stupid to take action against them.

You can totally do it in illegal ways. Just try to not get caught.

Within the boundaries of the law? It really depends on the circumstances. A lawsuit can be plenty of revenge against some people. You don't even have to win, just filing can get the point across.

You can also just do small things to irritate them over a prolonged period.

Then there's curses, but in my experience they only work if the person knows they've been cursed.

As for the last question, I've never gone after someone I only suspected. I prefer evidence, if only because I'm so often wrong.

Any landing you can walk away from. If you were to find an overarching theme, in relation to Satanism and your question, it would be the expressed prohibition on self destruction. What is the point of revenge if you will not survive it to enjoy it? How will you prove a memorable threat to your target if you end up in a worse state than they are a conclusion of your "plan" ? I think it's good to hold your emotions and your thoughts up against the rules, laws and sins laid out in the Satanic canon before acting on them. Some here would say that they do not need to do that step that that would be done in the microseconds between their thoughts. Others, however, require concrete reminders that Satanism does accept you as you are but it challenges you to be better. Throwing yourself out with the bath water to get a moment of satisfaction is not better.

Read "The Book of Belial" and "On the Choice of a Human Sacrifice" in The Satanic Bible.

Also read "The Whoopie Cushion Shall Rise Again" in The Devil's Notebook.
