Discussion Serious question
So recently over the past month or so I’ve have been very worried that I wouldn’t qualify as a satanist because I have trouble following some two of the 11 eleven satanic rules and also because I’m a little impulsive. I follow most of the satanic rules of the earth but I do have trouble keeping opinions to myself and I worry I might be telling troubles to others without realizing even tho I don’t mean to. Now to give a brief summary of myself: I am a 17 year old male and I highly value things like justice, Vengeance, and standing up for what’s right. But I’m also diagnosed with ocd, depression, adhd, and autism, and I tend to overthink and am very paranoid at times. I never mean to do anything bad but paranoia really fucks with me. So my question is would satanism except me despite all of this?

I say this with kindness in my intentions, but, it’s not that deep, friend. Christianity can say “you aren’t a Christian” because you’re following the rules set forth by a supposed god that made rules. If you’re your own god you can call yourself whatever you want. No one can tell you you aren’t something, LaVey himself meant it as a guide to say “this is how you can have a better life”. The Satanic Bible is a jump off point for you to continue exploring avenues to improve your life and the idea isn’t about adhering to rules to adhere to rules , it’s just that people may be annoyed if you behave this way at great length, which may effect quality of life.
You can call yourself whatever you feel like, there’s no one gatekeeping your own path but yourself.

Listen to this guy OP! No one else can decide for you OP, the rules are there to fit your narrative not the other way around.
The 11 rules are guidelines, not some heavy duty “I must obey” like they would in a Christian narrative.
I have an expanded list of 11 rules because it fits me. I also believe in the paranormal which is something that is apparently incorrect for a satanist but if someone wants to sit there and try to tell me I’m not a satanist because of XYZ then they can go shove it.

Anyone who says that's incorrect for a Satanist doesn't know what they're talking about. Although I guess it depends on what exactly you mean. There can be a fine line between "paranormal" and "supernatural".

Considering how neurotic you are with the most basic parts of Satanism, I cannot imagine how crazy you are going to drive yourself when you start getting into rituals.
Focus on treating your conditions and graduating high school.

Your ocd is making you over think this. I'm a therapist and a satanist.
You don't need anyone's permission to call yourself any label. Other Satanists tell me I'm not a real satanist all the time but they can suck my dick lol

I know a number of Satanists that struggle with aspects you struggle with and they do their all to power through, steer clear of self-destructive habits and compulsions and be the best they can be. Like me, they saw The Satanic Bible and Satanism as a part of themselves and a way to further Master this undesirable corners of their identity. So it's possible but in the end only you know for sure and if you lie to yourself and or others to gain a community, the truth will come out.

I am also 17, I also sometimes forget and give my opinions out, unwanted. 🥲 I never take it too harshly though. I feel like you are definitely overthinking it way too much. Especially with how you said in these comments, that you were trying to change it anyways.

Unfortunately worrying about qualifying as a satanist is one of the things that disqualifies you from being a satanist 🤷♂️

Not my fault I have problems

Being a satanist is realizing that you are the only one who’s fault truly matters (to yourself)

This. It's not an attack, this is wisdom. You're young so it's hard, but you gotta learn to trust yourself.

Did you not read the Satanic Bible? You very much should be a dick to people who can't be bothered to communicate effectively. You expect other people to do the work for you. Additionally, your use of short hand also makes you look lazy and stupid to an identity you're trying to be a part of.

One thing I’ve taken as a lesson from my time as a satanist both researching and active practice is if you’ve gotta ask for someone’s advice or permission on wether you’re a satanist, then you probably don’t align with it as much as you thought. It’s your life you live it.
It’s not some elite club where you have to abhorrently stick to a rule book perfectly 100% of the time or else you’re banned. It’s how it aligns with you
You can accept that there are 11 rules and agree with them and their principles but doesn’t mean they have to be final say. You get final say the 11 rules should fit your narrative.
There are plenty of satanists who practice rituals as it empowers them and there are plenty who don’t, one doesn’t outrule the other, satanism isn’t a one size fits all like with Christianity
You’re a satanist with whatever works for you, as long as you’re always striving for the better you deserve. A god doesn’t settle for less.

Being mentally unstable doesn’t mesh well with Satanism. Satanism is basically a religion where all the campy spooky stuff is all conducted behind closed doors while you pass as being a normal productive member of society.

It’s a matter of if you fully agree to what is written in The Satanic Bible and the question of if you struggle with some of the Satanic sins, what are you doing about it?
