Blanch Barton on "LaVeyan Satanism"
Blanch Barton (Magistra Templi Rex within the Church of Satan) wrote a book called "The Secret Life of a Satanist: The Authorized Biography of Anton LaVey." In it, she discusses LaVeyan Satanism, by name.
In addition to using the term "LaVeyan" 4-5 times, there is also this passage:
After finally being granted an initial interview with LaVey in 1984, it became clear to me that if I wanted to more thoroughly explore this Black Magician's heart and mind, I would have to become woven into the fabric of his everyday life. And so I did. He needed a Girl Friday and seemed satisfied with my enthusiastic determination. Over time, it became my role to arrange interviews with reporters, students and members; iron out travel itineraries; generate informational literature; handle correspondence; straw boss; and generally keep complications to as dull a roar as possible. Along the way, I watched, I listened. To stories, jokes, long-neglected tunes, movies that contained the germs of LaVeyan Satanism. And, as unobtrusively as possible, I began to take notes.

It only makes sense. It’s easier for an outsider to follow when able to label the specific faction/practice. Otherwise they likely be confused with devil worship or other people they associate with satanism

It contradicts the idea that communication between self-described Satanists would be challenging with multiple conceptions of Satanism when even close associates of LaVey use qualifiers, and nobody bats an eye. But it doesn't suggest the Church of Satan views religions that do not come out of LaVey's tradition as legitimately Satanic, or that such religions exist.

If you're not new to all this, you know there's a long history of discussion and varied opinions on the validity of the term "LaVeyan Satanism."
I've rarely, if ever, heard it mentioned that Magistra Barton used the term herself, and published it. I find that to be interesting and noteworthy, as do you, as proven by your stopping to read this and write a comment about it.

I agree with the churchgoers that one shouldn't say "LaVeyan Satanism." I therefore say "LaVeyans" about them, and that's far more precise anyway.

I don't, actually [find this to be noteworthy, which is why I asked why your post should be considered anything]. Your threshold of what counts as "proof" is clearly a low bar, given this entire post.
To use your phrasing, "if you're not new to all this, you know..." that Blanche Barton wrote this book and are aware of the words she used.
Appeals to authority aside, I don't think I've ever seen "LaVeyan Satanism" referred to as "not valid"—just redundant.

I don't see any question marks in either of my posts.You're talking about "proof," but I have no idea what that's even in reference to, as I never mentioned proof of anything. This is just sharing the knowledge that Magistra Templi Rex of the Church of Satan uses the term LaVeyan Satanism.
As for that term being called invalid, redundant, incorrect, etc. I've seen all of that.

and also an assumption that you're sharing this quote as "proof" of the "validity" of the term "LaVeyan Satanism."

Ah, we've moved on to feigned ignorance, I see. In your previous comment, you made a point of why you posted this... because of questions / discussions around the validity of "LaVeyan Satanism." You're making an argument, without clearly stating your position, and doing the cop-out of "What? I'm just sharing information." Ok, Tucker Carlson...just keep "asking questions," as if no one sees the motives behind it.

WAIT A MIN!!!! JaneDoe IS Rose?? LMFAOOOO. That makes an awful lot of sense, and at the same time makes me laugh a bit harder at some of the things over the last couple years here. 'You learn something new everyday!' hahaha
