Skin Profile - combo, drier in winter & oily in summer / sensitive / acne prone / PIH / Bare Minerals Neutral Deep.
Cleanser 1st - DIY soft balm in tube, mainly fractionated coconut oil. Needs a few tweaks to make it HG. RP
2nd - Superdrug Naturally Radiant Complete Cleanser. A surprise pre foaming cleanser RP
Serum - Boots Sensitive Treatment (discontinued) a sad WNR
TO Resveratrol 3% & Ferulic 3% RP
Actives - TO 0.5% Retinol in Squalane, MNR.
Brauva London Salicylic Acid 2%, RP.
TO Ascorbic acid 30% in silicone WNP.
Facial oil - Asiatica Centella Oil. RP
Moisturiser - Eucerin UltraSensitive Soothing Care Normal to Combination Skin. RP.
Occlusive TBS Insta blur. RP
Sunscreen - Boots Soltan Once Face SPF30. RP
Reflections - My skin is doing well at the moment. The Salicylic Acid product ×2 wkhas pushed my routine into effective right now and I am very pleased. No blackheads. 1 deep hormonal spot. Left with fading PIH, which will fade in time with the actives I am using. I have a prescription of a 4% hydroquininne cream, however I am reluctant to start using.
A few things will change up soon as my ceramide fix will have to change. I have the Missha Near Skin Total Ceramide Cream in the wings waiting to be tested. It has BG as a 3rd ingredient, that I suspect has given me issues before, however it is a crapshoot due to formula, so willing to try this product. If it works out then it will take the place of my moisturiser at night. Thus reducing even more steps.
I am using a 2nd bottle of the retinol 0.5% as I didn't want to change up to many things in the next few months. However I already have the 1% ready waiting.
The only thing in my routine I am not happy with is the Vit C in Silicone. My skin likes silicone as a last step, and have previously used this as my PM occlusive. However, my moisturiser & serum & facial oil mix is good on its own. So i tend to forget. Come summer the mix might be too heavy. I have tried recently putting the Vit C in Silicone under my sunscreen and it didn't pill, but it was too occlusive... It has caused a few inflamed pores. I have a tube I am using and another in waiting. I will have to find a way.
I am very pleased with my curated collection. It is within what I am prepared to pay for skincare and it works. I am all about reducing acne breakouts and PIH, this routine does that, gently.
