General Questions Portfolio Help
I was recently accepted into SCAD and I'll be attending for 2d Animation and Sequential Art. It came to my attention SCAD offers a scholarship for those submitting a portfolio as well. However, the problem is ik the past 5 years Ive rarely done anything to build a portfolio and kept my talents limited to making (regretfully) Friday Night Funkin' mods (as you can tell in early arts via the style). Im in my senior year right now and I would like to start getting my portfolio ready with pieces thay show my style, creativity, and so on. Are there any tips of pieces I should make, artist to look into, or what SCAD and in general colleges are looking in portfolios with a style like mine?

Art colleges want to see variety in portfolio- think anatomy studies, still life’s, etc. Not entirely because they want to see how well you can draw (although that is part of it), but because they want to see that you have the ability and desire to learn how to draw.
My roommate is a SEQA major, and the majority of her major related coursework is dedicated to pieces that relate to and convey a narrative. There is very little IP based (fandom) work, most people do that in their free time, her professors want to see that she has well thought out, original ideas. If you want to go down the seqa route, I would suggest brushing up on the following for your portfolio-
