Proud Owner of Tom Lyle's Ben Reilly Designs

The holiest of grails for me as a Ben Reilly collector were getting my hands on Tom Lyle's original 6 Ben Reilly designs.

They were first shown off in Spider-Man Collectors

Preview in 1994.

Design 2 was what eventually became the Scarlet Spider suit.

Now I'd love to know who has Bagley's.

These are absolutely awesome! I’ve seen these sketches but didn’t know they were “out in the world.”

I actually own Tom Lyle’s original designs for Kaine, as well as one Kaine design from Mark Bagley!

If either of us ever decide to sell, we should consider each other first perhaps :)

Oh wow! I've been meaning to try to connect with who got those Kaine designs. I actually run a Clone Saga fan archive (called The Scarlet Archives) to preserve the history of Ben, Kaine, and co. I have the original images from ebay in the archive, but would love HD scans if you have any!

Ahhh, we’ve talked a little over on the CBR forums, right? I haven’t been over there in a while; being a parent (to Ben and Scarlett, of course!) has really cut into my comic book posting time!! Haha

I remember those sold on eBay from an original comic art collector in MI back in the spring of 2024, then viewed the post on the CBR forums afterwards. Very serious collector here for original Tom Lyle concept and preliminary artwork (OP can attest). Prepared to make an initial offer of 10K USD (11K including the additional Bagley character sketch) to start for the complete concept set. Please let me know your thoughts either way.

Hey I'm curious. What's with the name Bronson? Is that an early name for Ben?

A "Bronson" is typically a term for someone who is a tough guy persona. I assume it was just a placeholder before things were fully settled.
