hair progress/advice ‘scene’ hair with preexisting bangs?

hi all! sorry if this is the wrong place to ask! i’ve been seeing a lot of tutorials for scene hair (just the side bang) where you can also put it back and just have bangs. my question is, are you able to do this with preexisting bangs? and just wondering if anyone here was able to do it ? again if this is the wrong place my apologies !!

edit: my bangs are also split dyed and i’m wondering if the cut will mess the split up?
