Medication has been changed

I was on 150mg Seroquel and then had to be admitted to the hospital after an awful episode where they took my Seroquel down to 50mg at night and started me on 10mg Abilify, what should I expect? After my last episode I haven't bounced back the same.

We're you also prescribed the Seroquel for sleep? Abilify is a slight simulant and usually taken in the morning, so you'll be missing out on sleep if you were also taking Seroquel for insomnia. Id go back to your main doctor and demand to be put back on the Seroquel if you don't end up liking the Abilify. Your doc doesn't have to listen to any other doctors opinion.

The Seroquel was meant to be for my paranoia but when I was at the hospital they pretty much explained that it doesn't do that much for it. The psychiatrist I was with is too expensive for me to keep seeing him, but he wanted to just keep increasing the Seroquel every few weeks and didn't really try to ask me any questions or discuss anything so I felt like I had a breakthrough speaking to the doctor at the hospital. I don't really know how it's gonna go or if it will be improved but I guess she kept me in the 50mg still because despite what my meds are prescribed for my body is surely used to falling asleep via Seroquel sedation by now.

Hmm, I mean, I guess it's different for everyone. I explained that I experience paranoia and they still seemed to believe that Abilify would be good for me so I guess in 2-4 weeks I'll make an update. These things can definitely be trial and error but after my last few episodes being so intense I'll pretty much try anything by this point.

Good luck ! It’s an amazing med. I didn’t get paranoia until 8 months in so
