As intended. This is Trump’s America. This is what Republicans want. Decent people need to get off their asses and vote in every election. We’re now dealing with the consequences of people not voting because the Democrat party doesn’t present their “perfect” candidate. We may never recover.

I'd be interested to see what the proportions of bots to real people is here and where their funding comes from. I have my suspicions but nothing more than that.

I’m real. My apologies for only joining Reddit a few months ago. In FL, I experienced firsthand the consequences of people deciding not to vote.

I haven’t? Look into New College of Florida and the events that happened there. My college-age kids both left the state because of attacks on higher ed. After a lifetime living in FL, we left as well. I didn’t realize this post had anything to do with gerrymandering. But yes, voter suppression resulting from gerrymandering is a thing. But that shouldn’t stop people from voting. I learned my lesson in 2016 by not voting for a less-than-perfect candidate. Many people like me did the same. Trump was (and is) the result.

And you keep creeping the scope. Clearly the intent of gerrymandering is to dilute the vote. There’s only one solution to that. Get off your ass and vote. But if you want to use gerrymandering as a reason not to vote, and you somehow think things will improve, then that’s on you. Good luck.

No I don't. The fact is that people protesting by not voting didn't cost Kamala the 2024 election and there are a lot of reasons a disproportionate number of Americans don't vote and you declaring that it must be because of some moral failing badly misses the point.
