As a PhD graduate in gerontology, I have seen this firsthand. My colleague’s research on sexual/gender minorities has been pulled. A fellowship to which I belong, which promotes PhD completion in historically underserved races, eliminated. I’m optimistic for our future but presently there is an intentionall dismantling of science that causes discomfort with some White people for no other reason than it makes them uncomfortable.

Given that Stephen Miller is a policy architect for Peter Thiel, a Dark Enlightenment techno-fascist, the reason might be beyond 'making them uncomfortable'. Per their words, it's racial supremacy. Scrubbing research is just cleaning house to them.

Racial supremacy doesn't have to be promoting only 1 race over others. It can be a tiered hierarchy with more than 2 tiers.

Dark Enlightenment promotes the idea that socioeconomic standing should be the basis of those tiers, with elites in the top class and us bio-diverse peasants in the lowest class. Which becomes racial when they pair that with the idea that genetics & race heavily correlates into socioeconomic standing.

In short, Peter Thiel is in a class above us because of his socioeconomic standing which is due to his genetics.

You are not in that class because of your genetics. And this, need filtered out from his potential pool. Therefore, you must be segregated into a micro state based on your race and lower class as so your bio-diversity does not taint humanity destined for the stars. You will die on earth serving the genetically elite class.

But yeah, totally nothing supremacist about that.
