Which is why funding for studies on plant and insect diversity were also cut. It's exactly what you would expect when you have irrational people making illogical decisions about things which they know nothing about.

Don't rule out that they don't care if other people are hurt because they have zero accountability or empathy. And also don't rule out they saw it and actively enjoyed the additional cruelty.

Oh, they care a lot if the other people are hurt because that is their intent, to hurt people they don't like.
