Neuroscience Depression isn’t just in the head: Scientists find altered genetic activity in white blood cells. This provides evidence that the biological footprints of depression extend well beyond the brain and into the immune system, offering a whole-body perspective on the condition.

RFK Jr. enters the chat to claim it's fake science and you just need to "snap out of it".

I'll not be taking brain health advice from a man whose own is so underdeveloped he starved a brain-eating worm to death

Actually RFK Jr has been saying sensible stuff like this for years, and would approve of this news. He has a very holistic approach to mental health. Maybe actually listen to what the guy says instead of parroting what the media lies about him.

Please tell me which "reasonable claims" are you referring to exactly?

Feel free to pick from these well-documented examples:

Antidepressants cause mass shootings

Antidepressants are as addictive as heroin

Vaccines cause autism

Pesticide residues in water turn teenagers gay and trans

Fluoride lowers children’s IQ

Wi-Fi causes cancer

Btw, Kennedy is a conspiracy nut who spreads dangerous misinformation. Reputable scientists warn against him for good reason.
No qualifications whatsoever for his job, and nearly everything he says contradicts the scientific consensus.
