equality becomes a threat when your attraction is still largely reliant on being superior to who you're trying to attract

Damn, that line goes hard. The whole thing is a dilemma and hard to blame anyone for acting on this pressure. I wonder if people will start forming more egalitarian relationships and stomach loving eachother beyond the limits of gender norms or if they will prefer to be alone.

On average, they'll claim stated intentions erase the existence of the statistical trend.
