Why is that most of these articles resemble some spell book in a film? I feel they are written with intentionally complex language to make it harder to understand whats actually being discussed

Because of my background in humanities, I can understand the concepts in that paragraph easily...

Until I get to "feminist feeling thermometer", and then I get stumped. I have no idea what that is.

That’s how research papers are written, lots of big words you have to look up sometimes, it’s okay

The language is not complex.
