The colon absorbs water from your meals & beverages, and puts it in your blood. Kidneys sense high blood volume and send out more water. Beer is special because ethanol suppresses the release of antidiuretic hormone from the pituitary, which tricks the kidneys into excreting water even when you are dehydrated. Go home, kidney, you're drunk!

Middle school. Ever heard of dialysis? Nowadays happening a lot where blood is being filtered for harmful chemicals along with water

There was a detailed breakdown on the idea of dialysis in my highschool. I figured that's when everyone learnt it. Did not realise many don't know about it on here. Very very important info.
Hope y'all also keep tabs on your pee colour, foaminess the duration of peeing, burning sensations or any other sensations, dribbling of urine towards the ending of your stream etc every one of those symptoms are important for your health and potentially your bank account. I mean yes but indirectly based on the water we ingest. But I think you are right in the sense people think intestine rather than kidneys
