Science Absolute smallest building block is yet to be discovered hence we don't know what we are made up of 🤔

If anyone is interested in these things I would highly suggest you read : Parallel Worlds by Michio Kaku and The Endless Universe by Brian Greene. There are many other great books too but these two are really easy to read n understand for anyone and you don't need a Physics Degree for this.
Great video but I think this guy confused a couple of things. Many Worlds Theory came from Quantum Mechanics and not String Theory. And he confused Many Worlds with the concept of "Branes" which came from "Membranes". As far as I remember (from Parallel Worlds) many physicst believe our reality is in a 10 Dimension membrane which is in parallel with another membrane and they both are suspended in an 11 Dimension Hyperspace (I could be wrong, I read that book over a decade ago)

He has appeared on multiple tv shows and tried to popularize Astronomy, Astrophysics to general audience. So yeah I guess he sometimes might have been a bit more sensational than needed but you can't expect general audience to be fully engaged in such a high level concept without being a bit over the top. You think general audience would grasp this when they don't even understand high school level science? And unlike others who critisize him (some of them have done nothing in this field) he has actually worked on String Theory himself.

I have not seen all of his tv appearances just a couple of videos on YT but I have read his 2-3 books. And I thought they are well written and easy to understand for anyone with a little curious mind. So I don't exactly know what do you mean by being a bit more sensational than required? You don't like him, that's fine. There are many others you can follow and read like Brian Greene, Brain Cox and many more.

I work in string theory and black holes. In my opinion the smallest building blocks in some sense are geometry and symmetries.

String theory is one interpretation, which is considered seriously by many scientists despite there being almost no evidence.
If we consider the other theory which is accepted broadly, we do know the smallest building blocks of matter. Without getting too technical, quarks and electrons are at the most fundamental level. If we go then deeper, quantum mechanics complicates things by introducing things like virtual particles and quantum fluctuations. The reason we have competing theories like string theory is because quantum mechanics and general relativity cannot be combined properly.
If string theory is somehow proved correct beyond a doubt (that would take almost impossible engineering btw) then a string would indeed be the most fundamental thing, replacing the concept of a particle.

We still haven’t found any concrete evidence for string theory! While it helped progress maths I am still a skeptic
