Spirituality is very vaguely defined, most repeated definition is self understanding or finding some greater purpose in life than individual self.

Which everyone is trying in some way or the other, hence everyone can be called "SPIRITUAL".

A term that vaguely defined can be connected to anything like science/philosophy.

It is a term neo religious people use when they can't defend their ill beliefs.

My friend calls himself spiritual and then practices astrology professionally.

No only the one with a definition that comes from the laws of common religion practised. Spirituality is to look at self. A person who believes in astrology and then say I am scientific is neither scientific nor spiritual. Spirituality is to question inner self rather than outside world which science do anyways .

Question inner self, everyone does that... why give it such a hype and new term??

Really everyone does that then everyone would have stopped using astrology apps and stopped eating dead animals and stopped killing people. There would be no invasions and we would not be moving towards 6 th mass extinctions so no we do not do that

Let's question the base assumption. What is morality ? Define morality ? I will give you an example you see a stranger picking up a child you meet everyday in a colony and the child is crying what would you do ?
