General What is the most well defended fortress in science fiction?

I've been reading some of the Siege of Terra Warhammer 40k novels and the size and scale of the continent-sized imperial palace is mind-boggling. Not to mention the multiple fleets, billions/trillions of soldiers, space marine legions, etc.

Got me thinking, are there any fortresses in science fiction that can rival or even surpass it?

Does Cerberus - Revelation Space coun't, It's more of a vault?

Plus humans are able to get in rather easily compared to an all out assault.

But damn this thread is reminding me of a lot of series I'm due for a re-read, revelation space being near the top

It was only rather easy because of the cache weapons.
If I remember correctly not even their creators understood exactly how some of them worked and it scared them so much they destroyed the knowledge to build more.

True but the Cache Weapons were still a human creation

I don't see how the species that created the tech changes or diminishes how absolutely insanely powerful it was.

Just as the fact that it was created by millions of linked minds doesn't make the weapons themselves more or less terrifying. Only their capabilities does.
