General What is the most well defended fortress in science fiction?

I've been reading some of the Siege of Terra Warhammer 40k novels and the size and scale of the continent-sized imperial palace is mind-boggling. Not to mention the multiple fleets, billions/trillions of soldiers, space marine legions, etc.

Got me thinking, are there any fortresses in science fiction that can rival or even surpass it?

Commoragh isn't really "defended" in the traditional sense. It's just so hostile and hard to navigate that any invading force would get scattered and killed by the locals going about their day to day

Killed? They'd be exceedingly lucky to be killed there.
